The Philippines competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024, celebrating the centenary of the team's debut in the 1924 Summer Olympics, same city. Filipino athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games from 1924 onwards, except for 1980 Summer Olympics, Moscow 1980 when the nation was part of the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott, American-led boycott. This is the second consecutive Olympic Games where the Philippines earned at least one gold medal, winning its first-ever gold in 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo 2020. Carlos Yulo won two golds in the men's floor and vault events, becoming the first-ever Filipino and Southeast Asian double Olympic gold medalist, and the first from gymnastics. The Philippine Olympic Committee Inc. (POC) is the National Olympic Committee of the Philippines. The POC is a private, non-governmental organization composed of and serve as the mother organization of all National Sports Associations (NSAs) in the Philippines. It is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as having the sole authority for representation of the Philippines in the Olympic Games, the Asian Games, the Southeast Asian Games and other multi-event competitions. Gymnastics At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Men's Vault
Gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will be contested in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The artistic (27 July to 5 August) and trampoline (2 August) events will occur at the Bercy Arena, with the rhythmic events staging at Porte de La Chapelle Arena from 8 to 10 August. Qualification The qualification pathway for the 2024 Summer Olympics is significantly simplified and modified from those in 2020. In the artistic team event, a maximum of five gymnasts will be eligible to participate as opposed to the four per team and two individuals who competed in Tokyo 2020. Three teams who finish on the podium qualify for the Olympics through the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool with a large proportion of quota places distributed at the same meet in Antwerp, Belgium by the following year. The 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Riga was one of four 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. The tournament was held at Riga, Latvia, from 2 to 7 July 2024. Six teams participated in two groups of three teams, where the first-and second-placed teams advanced to the semifinals. The winner of the tournament qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics. It is managed by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), the governing body of football in the country. The women's national football team of the Philippines was formalized in the 1980s.
