Peter Clarke (drummer)
Peter Edward Clarke (born 21 August 1957), known professionally as Budgie, is an English drummer best known for his work in Siouxsie and the Banshees. He is also the co-founder of the Creatures. He was the drummer of the Slits in 1979. He was then a member of Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1979 to 1996 and a member of the Creatures from 1981 to 2004. Budgie worked with other musicians including John Cale, Leonard Eto (formerly of the Kodo Drummers), John Grant and Anohni with Hercules and Love Affair. In 2023, he released the album ''Los Angeles'', in collaboration with Lol Tolhurst and Jacknife Lee. ''Spin'' rated him one of "the 100 Greatest Drummers of Alternative Music". Peter Clarke (7 October 1948 – 21 January 2007) was a prominent child welfare activist in Wales. Clarke was born in Llandudno. His early life included military training at Sandhurst, from which he moved on to social work in London and Brighton, studying philosophy (BA & MA) at Sussex University. Clarke worked first at the Stamford House Remand Home in London. In 1985 he became community care advisor for the Spastics Society (now named Scope). Peter Michael Clarke (born 3 January 1982) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for club Prescot Cables. Clarke began his career with Everton. During his time there, he made nine league appearances and had loan spells with Blackpool, Port Vale and Coventry City. He then joined Blackpool permanently in 2004, where he also captained the club. He also captained Southend United, who he joined in 2006 before joining Huddersfield Town in 2009. He helped the "Terriers" to win promotion out of League One via the play-offs in 2012. Peter Clarke (19 May 1881 – 14 December 1915) was an Irish cricketer. A right-handed batsman and leg-break bowler, he had a brief, but interesting, career. In May 1912 he was plucked from virtual obscurity to make his first-class debut in a Test trial match for the England cricket team. He was not selected for the England team, but did play for Ireland against South Africa later that same year. This match was his only match for Ireland.
