Pere Cabot
Pere Cabot Roldós (1877 – 3 September 1907) was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender for FC Barcelona at the turn of the century. He was one of the most important footballers in the amateur beginnings of FC Barcelona, being among the 12 founders of the club in 1899, and then playing for Barça for three years. Early life Pere Cabot was born in Cabrils in 1877 as the son of Francesch Cabot and Josepha Roldós i Barnet. His father was a navy captain and the family owned a shipping company in the city of Barcelona. He married Montserrat Batlle i Aragagall, with whom he had a son, Jaume. Career Cabot was one of the twelve men who attended the historic meeting held at the Gimnasio Solé on 29 November 1899 which saw the birth of Football Club Barcelona. The 1902 Medal of the Spanish Gymnastics Federation also referred to simply as Medalla de la Federació and Medalla del Ayuntamiento was a football competition that was held in Barcelona between February and June 1902. 1900–01 Copa Macaya
The 1900–01 Copa Macaya was the 1st staging of the Copa Macaya. This tournament is best known for being the very first football competition played on the Iberian Peninsula. The competition was held on the road between 20 January 1901 and ended on 14 April, and it was won by Hispania AC, narrowly beating FC Barcelona by just two points. Overview In December 1900, Alfonso Macaya, the then president of Hispania AC, offered a trophy (the Copa Macaya) to the winners of a tournament played on the road featuring six teams from Catalonia: FC Barcelona (1899), Hispania AC (1900), Club Tarragona, Sociedad Franco-Española (1900), Club Espanyol (now RCD Espanyol), and SD Santanach (1900).
