Percy The Park Keeper
''Percy the Park Keeper'' is a British animated children's television series based on the popular books by British author Nick Butterworth. The series is produced by HIT Entertainment with animation production by Grand Slamm Children's Films. The series initially ran as a series of four half-four specials that aired on CITV between December 1996 and December 1997 which were followed by a single series of thirteen ten-minute episodes that aired between September and December 1999. Nick Butterworth
Nick Butterworth (born 24 May 1946) is a British author and illustrator of children's books. His picture book ''The Whisperer'' won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in 2005. His '' Percy the Park Keeper'' books became an animated television series of the same name starring Jim Broadbent. His '' Q Pootle 5'' books were adapted by the BBC and broadcast on CBeebies, the channel for young children, in 2013. In the 1980s, he was a presenter on ITV children's programme ''Rub-a-Dub-Tub''. Early life Born on 24 May 1946 in Kingsbury in North London, from the age of 2, Butterworth grew up in a sweet shop in Romford. After his education at the Royal Liberty School in Gidea Park, Butterworth left home to work as an apprentice typographical designer with the National Children's Home before working at Crosby Fletcher Forbes (the forerunner of design agency Pentagram). European Robin
The European robin (''Erithacus rubecula''), known simply as the robin or robin redbreast in the British Isles, is a small insectivorous passerine bird that belongs to the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. It is found across Europe, east to Western Siberia and south to North Africa; it is Sedentism, sedentary in the west and south of its range, and bird migration, migratory in the north and east of its range where winters are harsher. It is in length; the male and female are identical in plumage, with an orange-toned red breast and face lined with grey, brown upper-parts and a whitish belly. Raphael Park
Raphael Park (pronounced "Ray-full") is a public park in Gidea Park, Romford, in the London Borough of Havering, United Kingdom. It is one of a series of parks stretching northwards from the railway line between Romford and Gidea Park. The southern entrance to Raphael Park is on Main Road, formerly called Hare Street, and the northern entrance is just south of the A12 Eastern Avenue. The western boundary of the park follows the line of Black's Brook, a small stream that was dammed where the park meets Main Road to form a lake 12–20 ft deep and called Black's Canal, this being done before the park was created. The dam itself is just inside the park next to the 18th century bridge which carries Main Road and known as Black's Bridge. The park itself is part of the parkland that once surrounded Gidea Hall.
