Per Kleiva
Per Kleiva (1 April 1931 – 17 September 2017) was a Norwegian painter and graphic artist. Biography He was born in Torsken to schoolteacher Ivar Kleiva (1903–98) and Frida Pettersen (1905–63). He was married to Ida Drage. He grew up in Troms, Sunnmøre and Gulen in Sogn. He took courses at Bergen Academy of Art and Design. In 1959 he studied under Niels Lergaard at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and he also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Kleiva studied under Per Krohg at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts in the years 1955 to 1957. From 1961 to 1965 he was an assistant to visual artist Sigurd Winge (1909–1970). He made his debut at the Autumn Exhibition at Oslo in 1963. From 1987 to 1993 he was appointed professor at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts. Torsken
Torsken is a former municipality that was located on the western coast of the large island of Senja in the old Troms county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1902 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was merged into the new Senja Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Gryllefjord. Other larger villages in Torsken municipality included the villages of Torsken, Medby, and Flakstadvåg. The historic Torsken Church in the village of Torsken dates back to the 18th century. Ånderdalen National Park was partially located inside the old borders of Torsken and neighboring Tranøy municipalities. At the time of its dissolution as a municipality on 1 January 2020, the municipality was the 310th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Henie Onstad Art Center
The Henie Onstad Kunstsenter is an art museum located at Høvikodden in Bærum municipality in Viken county, Norway. It is situated on a headland jutting into the Oslofjord, approximately southwest of Oslo. History The artcentre was founded in 1968 by World and Olympic champion figure skater Sonja Henie (1912–1969) and her husband, shipping magnate and art collector Niels Onstad (1909–1978). Their private collection of contemporary art, total 110 images, as well as funds for construction and operation of the centre was donated by the couple in 1961, when the Sonja Henie and Niels Onstad Foundation was created. Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum
Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum is a Norwegian visual arts museum in Northern Norway. The Northern Norwegian Museum of Art is responsible for the entire northern region and in 2010 established a separate department for the nationwide program. History Established as a foundation in 1985, the Northern Norway Art Museum moved to its current location in Tromsø in 2001.
