The People's Progressive Movement is a political party in the Cayman Islands currently headed by Roy McTaggart. History The People's Progressive Movement was founded in 2002. The founding members of the Party, which included Parliamentarians Kurt Tibbetts, Alden McLaughlin, Anthony Eden and Arden McLean, together with Lucille Seymour and many other "Movers and Shakers", committed to the ideals of principle-led governance, full participatory democracy, the formulation of a national development plan and a long term vision of where they wanted to take the country. Through the Party's internal processes, the members chose the candidates to represent the Party and ultimately the people of the Cayman Islands. The Party got to work and by the next General Election in 2005 was able to present a slate of nine candidates all of whom were embraced by the electorate. People's Progressive Movement (Malawi)
The People's Progressive Movement (PPM) is a political party in Malawi. At the elections of 20 May 2004, its candidate for president Aleke Banda won 2.5% and the party was part of the Mgwirizano Coalition, that won 27 out of 194 seats. Aleke Banda was the close friend of hastings Kamuzu Banda in 1956. He was among the people who founded the Nyasaland Congress Party. He was also saved as Ministry of Agriculture in the United Democratic Front (UDF) during Bakali Muluzi's time. He left UDF together with Mark Katsonga Phiri and formed their party after there was disagreement with Muluzi about the Presidency of Bingu wa Munthalika.
