People's Poet of Uzbekistan () is an order of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Zulfiya (poet)
Zulfiya Isroilova, known by her pen name Zulfiya (in Cyrillic '; 1 March 1915 in Tashkent, Russian Empire – 1 August 1996 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) was a Soviet and Uzbek writer. She repeatedly was a leader or chief editor for various media, participating in Soviet delegations to various conferences. The Uzbek National Award for Women was created and named after her. Early life Her name Zulfiya originates from the Persian word ''zulf'' meaning 'a curl of hair' and '(in a mystic sense) the divine mysteries forming the delight of the devotee'. Zulfiya was born in Mahallah Dergez, near Tashkent to a family of craftsmen. Her parents were very interested in culture and literature. Her mother used to sing her popular songs and tales. Shukrullo
Shukrullo (pen name of Shukrullo Yusupov; 2 September 1921 – 19 July 2020) was an Uzbek poet. Shukrullo Yusupov was born on September 2, 1921, in Tashkent, in the mahallah (quarter) Olmazor. The writer's father, Yusufkhodzha(Yusufhoʻja), was a rather famous healer in Tashkent. In 1938 he graduated from the Pedagogical College and began teaching in Karakalpakstan. In 1944, after graduating from the Tashkent Pedagogical Institute, he entered the postgraduate courses of Central Asian State University (SAGU), specializing in foreign literature. Since 1946, a member of the Union of Writers of the Uzbek SSR. The first collection of poems entitled "The Law of Happiness" was published in 1949. In 1949 Shukrullo Yusupov was arrested along with a number of famous writers and poets of Uzbekistan Hamid Suleiman, Mirzakolon Ismaili, Shukhrat, brothers Alimukhamedov and Mahmud Muradov. Erkin Vohidov
Erkin Vohidov (December 28, 1936 – May 30, 2016) was an Uzbek poet, playwright, literary translator, and statesman. In addition to writing his own poetry, Vohidov translated the works of many famous foreign poets, such as Aleksandr Tvardovsky, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Muhammad Iqbal, Rasul Gamzatov, and Sergey Yesenin into the Uzbek language. Particularly noteworthy are his translations of Yesenin's works and Goethe's ''Faust''. In 1983, Vahidov was awarded the State Hamza Prize for his poetry collection ''Sharqiy qirgʻoq''. He became a People's Poet of Uzbekistan in 1987. In 1999, he was awarded the title Hero of Uzbekistan, the highest honorary title that can be bestowed on a citizen by Uzbekistan. Abdulla Oripov (poet)
Abdulla Oripov (21 March 1941 – 5 November 2016) was an Uzbek people, Uzbek poet, literary translator, and a politician. He is best known as the author of the lyrics to the State Anthem of Uzbekistan. In addition to writing his own poetry, Oripov translated the works of many famous foreign poets, such as Alexander Pushkin, Dante Alighieri, Nizami Ganjavi, and Taras Shevchenko, into the Uzbek language. Oripov was also a statesman. He was a member of the Senate of Uzbekistan from 2005 until his death in 2016. He also served as the head of the Copyright Committee of Uzbekistan from 2000 until his death. Oripov received many awards during his lifetime. He became a National Poet of the Uzbek SSR in 1989. Halima Xudoyberdiyeva
Halima Xudoyberdiyeva (Cyrillic: Ҳалима Худойбердиева; ; 17 May 1947 – 17 August 2018) was an Uzbek poet whose themes at different times of her career have dealt with Uzbek nationhood and history, liberation movements, and feminism. She was awarded the title People's Poet of Uzbekistan. Life Halima Xudoyberdiyeva was born on 17 May 1947 on Taraqqiyot Collective Farm in Boyovut, Sirdaryo, Uzbekistan. In 1972 she graduated from Tashkent State University's Faculty of Journalism. Her first employment was as an editor at ''Saodat'' magazine. In 1975–1977 she did advanced graduate study at the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow. She went on to become the head of the Yosh Gvardiya department of publications in 1978.
