2023 Periodic Review Of Westminster Constituencies
The 2023 review of Westminster constituencies was the most recent cycle of the process to redraw the Constituencies of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, constituency map for the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The new constituency boundaries were approved by the Privy Council (United Kingdom), Privy Council on 15 November 2023 and came into law on 29 November. It is the first review of Westminster boundaries to be successfully implemented since Fifth periodic review of Westminster constituencies, 2010. Julia Catherine Weir Aglionby, (born 4 October 1969) is a British agricultural economist, land agent, and politician. Having studied at Somerville College, Oxford and University College, London, Aglionby worked as an environmental economist (1993–1995) and land agent (1997–2013). Mark Ian Jenkinson (born 28 January 1982) is a British Conservative Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the abolished seat of Workington from 2019 to the 2024 general election. Dalston, Cumbria
Dalston is a large village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, on the B5299 road south-west of Carlisle. The village is on the River Caldew, just to the north of where the Roe Beck joins it. Dalston railway station is on the Cumbrian Coast Line between , and . Aspatria
Aspatria is a town and civil parish in Cumberland, Cumbria, England. The town rests on the north side of the Ellen Valley, overlooking a panoramic view of the countryside, with Skiddaw to the South and the Solway Firth to the North. Its developments are aligned approximately east–west along the A596 Carlisle to Workington road and these extend to approximately in length. It lies about northeast of Maryport, a similar distance to the Southwest of Wigton, about north of Cockermouth and from the coast and Allonby. Solway Firth
The Solway Firth is an inlet on the west coast of Great Britain, forming part of the border between England and Scotland. The firth (a Scottish term for an inlet of the sea) divides Cumbria (including the Solway Plain) from Dumfries and Galloway. The Isle of Man is also very near to the firth. The firth comprises part of the Irish Sea. The firth's coastline is characterised by lowland hills and small mountains. It is a mainly rural area, with mostly small villages and settlements (such as Powfoot). Fishing, hill farming, and some arable farming play a large part in the local economy, although tourism is increasing. North Pennines
The North Pennines are the northernmost section of the Pennines, a range of hills which run north–south through northern England. Solway Coast
The Solway Coast is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in northern Cumbria, England. It incorporates two areas of coastline along the Solway Firth, the first running from just north of the city of Carlisle, at the estuary of the rivers Esk and Eden, in a westerly direction as far as Silloth-on-Solway, including the villages of Bowness-on-Solway, Burgh-by-Sands, Port Carlisle, and Skinburness. The second area begins just north of the hamlet of Beckfoot, and runs south down the coast to the southern end of Allonby Bay near the village of Crosscanonby. Included in this area are the villages of Mawbray and Allonby, and the hamlets of Dubmill, Hailforth and Salta. The hamlet of Wolsty lies just outside the AONB.
