Paul Franklin Watson (born December 2, 1950) is a Canadian-American conservation and environmental activist, who founded the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an anti-poaching and direct action group focused on marine conservation activism. The tactics used by Sea Shepherd have attracted opposition, with the group accused of eco-terrorism by both the Japanese government and Greenpeace. Watson is a citizen of Canada and the United States. The Toronto native joined a Sierra Club protest against nuclear testing in 1969. Because Watson argued for a strategy of direct action that conflicted with the Greenpeace interpretation of nonviolence, he was ousted from the board in 1977. However, Greenpeace has stated that Watson was an influential early member, but not one of the founders of Greenpeace. That same year, he formed the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Paul Watson Jr. (born December 30, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Fresno State Bulldogs. High school career Watson attended Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He led the team to a state championship and was named Most Valuable Player. College career Watson was selected as the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014 after averaging 10 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Family moved to Bolton, Lancashire after father obtained work in the textile mills. Attended Altrincham Grammar School, Cheshire. Attained A Level Art aged 16. Attended Manchester Regional College of Art, then Royal College of Art, London 1963-1966. Started working for the BBC in the mid-1960s, first job as researcher on ''Whicker's World.'' Given own documentary series ''A Year in the Life,'' followed by singles for the ''Tuesday's Documentary'' strand. In 1974, made ''The Family,'' one of his most well known programmes. Paul Douglas Watson (born 4 January 1975) is an English former footballer. During his career, Watson played for Gillingham, Fulham, Brentford, Coventry City and most notably for Brighton & Hove Albion before dropping into non-League football and playing for Woking, Rushden & Diamonds, Crawley Town and finally Bognor Regis Town. After retiring from football, Watson studied a part-time course at Brunel University in physiotherapy. He was appointed as Brighton & Hove Albion's assistant physiotherapist on 11 June 2009.
