Paul Runge (serial Killer)
Paul Frederick Runge (born January 28, 1970) is an American serial killer who sexually assaulted and murdered at least six women and one girl between 1995 and 1997, in Illinois' Cook and DuPage counties. Initially sentenced to death, his sentence was commuted by Governor Pat Quinn in 2011, when capital punishment was abolished in the state. Early life and first conviction Little is known about Runge's early life. He was born in Oak Forest, and since childhood has exhibited sexual sadism. This only worsened upon his mother's death, which occurred when he was 17. Later that year, Runge kidnapped, raped and beat up a 14-year-old girl in Oak Forest, only to later turn himself in to the authorities. He was given a 14-year sentence for this crime, but was paroled in May 1994. Oak Forest is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The city is out south-southwest of downtown Chicago in Bremen Township. Per the 2020 census, the population was 27,478. History Human habitation in Oak Forest began during the early Holocene. This is made evident by the remains of hunting camps on what would become the grounds of the city's hospital. Several millennia later, the final known indigenous settlement in Oak Forest, a Potawatomi longhouse village, was established nearby. However, it was abandoned by the 1620s. The origins of present-day Oak Forest begins with a railroad whistle stop on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad 1 block south of the intersection of 167th street and Central Avenue which primarily served area dairy farmers. Plainfield is a village in Will and Kendall counties, Illinois, United States. The population was 44,762 at the 2020 census. Charles Frederick Albright (August 10, 1933 – August 22, 2020) also known as the Eyeball Killer, was an American murderer from Texas who was convicted of killing one woman and suspected of killing two others in 1991. He was incarcerated in the John Montford Psychiatric Unit in Lubbock, Texas. Life history Born in Amarillo, Texas, Charles Albright was adopted from an orphanage by Delle and Fred Albright. Glendale Heights is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 33,176. History Glendale Heights was a small farming area served by the Glen Ellyn post office up until the 1950s, with a population of just 104 in 1959. Midland Enterprises ran by Charles and Harold Reskin started building houses in Glendale Heights in 1958. The Reskins bought two farms on Glen Ellyn Road north of North Avenue.
