Paul McCarthy (Australian Actor)
Paul McCarthy (born 13 January 1967 in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian comedy actor. He is best known for sketch comedy television series ''Comedy Inc''. Career He began performing professionally while attending Melbourne University, touring Australia with revue show ''Laminex on the Rocks'' which also starred Mick Molloy, Jason Stephens, Erika Williams and Andrew Maj. McCarthy appeared on stand-up comedy stages in Melbourne during the late eighties and through the nineties and was a regular participant in the annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival before finding his way onto television. He also starred in ''Totally Full Frontal'', a late 1990s television sketch comedy show, as well as in the hit Mick Molloy comedy '' Crackerjack''. Albert Watson Newton (23 July 1938 – 30 October 2021) was an Australian media personality. He was a Logie Hall of Fame inductee, quadruple Gold Logie–winning entertainer, and radio, theatre and television personality and compère. Newton was known for his collaborations opposite Graham Kennedy and subsequently Don Lane on their respective variety shows, and appearances with his wife, singer Patti Newton. Newton started his career in radio broadcasting, primarily as an announcer, before becoming a star and fixture of Australian television since its inception in 1956, and was considered both an industry pioneer icon and one of the longest-serving television performers in the world. ''At Home with Julia'' is a four-part Australian sitcom television series, created and written by Amanda Bishop, Rick Kalowski and Phil Lloyd, which debuted on 7 September 2011 on ABC1. A re-run of the series aired on ABC2 in April 2012. The series ran in syndication in the United States on the Vibrant TV Network. The series depicts a fictional representation of the relationship between Julia Gillard, the actual Prime Minister of Australia (played by Amanda Bishop), and Gillard's real-life partner, Tim Mathieson (played by Phil Lloyd). John Henry Michael 'Rove' McManus (born 21 January 1974) is an Australian comedian, television and radio presenter, producer and media personality who has received three Gold Logie awards. He was the host of the eponymous variety show '' Rove'' and the comedy talk show ''Rove LA'', and is the co-owner of the production company Roving Enterprises with business partner Craig Campbell. He was best known for hosting the controversial tabloid talk show '' Jerry Springer'' from 1991 to 2018.
