Paul Hopkins (baseball)
Paul Henry Hopkins (September 25, 1904 – January 2, 2004) was an American right-handed relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Washington Senators (1901–60), Washington Senators (1927, 1929) and St. Louis Browns (1929). Hopkins was born in Chester, Connecticut. His major league debut came on the same day that Babe Ruth hit his record-tying 59th home run on September 29, 1927. Hopkins said he did not know that he would be facing Ruth when he entered the game in the fifth inning with the bases loaded. He finished his career with a record of 1–1, 11 strikeouts, and a 2.96 earned run average in 11 games; he left St. Louis following the 1929 season after injuring a tendon. Hopkins died in Deep River, Connecticut, at 99 years of age, having worked for the University of Illinois' RSC division for years. Paul Hopkins (born July 12, 1968) is a Canadian actor. He is also a theatre producer and director. Career As an actor, he is known for his portrayal of Michael "Mouse" Tolliver in the TV miniseries '' More Tales of the City'' (1998) and its follow-up '' Further Tales of the City'' (2001). These miniseries were sequels to ''Tales of the City'' (1993), which starred Marcus D'Amico in the role of Mouse. Paul is also known for his portrayal of Karl in the Canadian TV series '' Vampire High'' (2001–2002) and Jim Bouchard on ''19-2''. Between 2004 and 2005, Hopkins spent two seasons with the Stratford Festival of Canada, where he was a member of the Birmingham Conservatory of Classical Theatre Training. In 2007, he became the artistic director and producer of Repercussion Theatre, Montreal's touring Shakespeare-in-the-Park company, a position he held until 2015. Paul David Hopkins (born 29 November 1986 in Liverpool) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Darlington. He also played for Waterford United F.C., Waterford United in the League of Ireland and for Bangor City F.C., Bangor City in the Welsh Premier League. Hopkins, a Forward (association football), striker who can also play on the midfielder#Winger, right wing, was a prolific goalscorer at schoolboy level with Liverpool F.C., Liverpool.
