Paul Cook
Paul Thomas Cook (born 20 July 1956) is an English musician, best known as the drummer and a founding member of the punk rock band the Sex Pistols. He is nicknamed "Cookie" by friends in the punk music scene. Early life and career Cook was raised in Hammersmith and attended the Christopher Wren School, now Phoenix High School, London in White City Estate, Shepherd's Bush, where he met Steve Jones. The pair became friends, and while skipping school, in 1972–1973, Cook and Jones, along with their school friend Wally Nightingale, formed a band, the Strand. Within the next three years the Strand evolved into the Sex Pistols. Cook's early influences included Motown, ska and glam rock acts like David Bowie, T. Rex, Roxy Music and Slade, in addition to drummers Kenney Jones of the Faces, Paul Thompson of Roxy Music, Al Jackson Jr. and Mitch Mitchell of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Paul Cook (footballer)
Paul Anthony Cook (born 22 February 1967) is an English professional football manager and former footballer who manages side Chesterfield. Cook played as a central midfielder during a playing career that spanned 23 years from 1983 until 2006, notably playing in the Premier League for Coventry City. He also played in the Football League for Wigan Athletic, Norwich City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County and Burnley. Cook moved into management in 2006 with Southport and later moved on to Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2007. In February 2012, he returned to English management with Accrington Stanley before moving to Chesterfield in October 2012. Cook guided Chesterfield to the League Two title in the 2013–14 season. Paul Cook (jockey)
Paul Cook is a retired Classic-winning jockey, who won two British Classics and was twice British flat racing Champion Apprentice. Career Paul Allan Cook was born in Cheltenham on 12 April 1946. Aged 14, on the advice of his local butcher, he wrote to trainer Frenchie Nicholson asking for a job at his stable. There was no vacancy at the time, but he was allowed to help out in the school holidays, even though he was too young and small to ride. He cycled to the stables and was given a few shillings a week as pocket money by Nicholson. After a year of work in the yard, he was allowed to ride the stable pony and an old steeplechaser called Desert Fort, and shortly after turning 15 he signed on as an apprentice. The trainer's son, David Nicholson trained him to ride. Nicholson senior bought two horses, Tenor and Balle d'Or, for Cook to ride in races and he made his racing debut on the latter in July 1962. IQ are a British neo-prog band founded by Mike Holmes and Martin Orford in 1981Official IQ site.
Band formed in 1981.
following the dissolution of their original band The Lens. Although the band have never enjoyed major commercial success and had several lineup changes, IQ have built up a loyal following over the years and are still active as of 2025, currently with the original recording line-up (with the exception of Orford). Paul Joseph Cook (born March 3, 1943) is an American politician serving as a San Bernardino County Supervisor since 2020, previously serving as the U.S. representative for California's 8th congressional district from 2013 to 2020. A member of the Republican Party, Cook also served on the Yucca Valley Town Council from 1998 to 2006 and represented the 65th district in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012. In September 2019, Cook announced that he would not run for re-election to Congress in 2020, and instead run for a seat on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. In the March 3, 2020 primary election, Cook defeated three opponents with an outright majority to avoid a November runoff and succeed Robert A. Lovingood, making him the new supervisor from San Bernardino County's 1st district. Cook resigned his U.S. House seat and assumed his new office on December 7, 2020. Paul Cook (born 23 July 1976) is an English former professional rugby league footballer and coach. He represented England at the 1995 Rugby League World Cup, and played at club level for Leeds, Bradford Bulls and Huddersfield Giants, as a or . and has coached at amateur level at Milford Marlins and Bramley Buffaloes. Playing career Cook started his professional career at Leeds before being transferred to Bradford Bulls in December 1995 in exchange for Carl Hall.
