Paul Blair (American Football, Born 1882)
Paul Blair (May 30, 1882 – December 11, 1904) was an American professional football player for the Latrobe Athletic Association in 1904. He was also the brother of Latrobe player, Eddie Blair. After the 1904 season, Blair was killed when he was hit by train walking along the Pennsylvania Railroad line between Latrobe, Pennsylvania and nearby Derry. The train's crew then loaded Blair's body on the train. Paul's father, John Blair, who was a railroad employee, recognized the shoe on the body that was just struck by the train, as being his son's. Paul Kevin Blair (born August 3, 1963) is a former American football player who played as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) from 1986 to 1990. Born in Edmond, Oklahoma, he attended Edmond Memorial High School and Oklahoma State University, before being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 1986 NFL Draft. He played in 14 games in his rookie season for the defending Super Bowl champions, as the team went 14–2 and reached the playoffs for a third season in a row. He played 11 more times the following season, including the only postseason appearance of his career against the Washington Redskins, but did not play in 1988 and left for the Denver Broncos in 1989; however, he did not play that season either, and joined the Minnesota Vikings for the 1990 season. Paul Barr "Coach" Blair (May 19, 1949 – November 8, 2006) was a swim coach who specialized in sprint training, and was best known for coaching the Arkansas Dolphins Swim Club from 1979-2006. Blair was born on May 19, 1949 in Dover, Ohio, and graduated Dover High School in 1967. He attended and swam for West Liberty State College in West Liberty, Virginia, now West Liberty University, and in 1971 was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American team. In that year, he helped lead West Liberty swimmers to the conference title, taking 15 of 17 events and finishing the season 11-3. After graduating college in 1975, he served as a Swimming and Cross Country Coach at the Linsly School, a prep school in Wheeling, Virginia, only twelve miles from West Liberty State.
