Patrick The Great
''Patrick the Great'' is a 1945 American drama film starring Donald O'Connor, Peggy Ryan, and Frances Dee. This was the last film for O'Connor and Ryan together, who had been a teenage team for the past several years. This was also O'Connor's last film before he went to serve in World War II. Plot Pat Donahue (Donald O'Connor) is living and working in the highland region of western Massachusetts, but longs for a career in show business. The young, but talented, Donahue hears about an opening in New York, and travels to the auditions. He wins the role, but later finds out that it was originally intended for his father Patrick Donahue (Donald Cook). Judy Watkin (Peggy Ryan) considers the younger Donahue her boyfriend, but a New York sophisticated young lady Lynn Andrews (Frances Dee) catches the young man's eye. Frank Ryan (1907 - January 1, 1948) was an American writer and director of films, best known for his films with Deanna Durbin. In 1942 he was given a producer-director-writer contract at Universal. Thomas Gomez
Thomas Gomez (July 10, 1905 – June 18, 1971) was an American actor. Life and career Spanish on his father (Sabino Tomás Gómez)'s side (Gibraltar and Santander, Spain) and French-Irish on his mother's side (Alsace and County Cork), Gomez's parents migrated to New York City shortly before his birth in 1905 as Sabino Tomás Gómez (or Sabino Tomas Gomez or Thomas Sabino Gomez). He began his acting career in theater in 1923, studying under actor Walter Hampden in a production of Cyrano de Bergerac in Syracuse, New York. He made his first film '' Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror'' in 1942 and by the end of his career had appeared in sixty films. Lassie Lou Ahern (June 25, 1920 – February 15, 2018) was an American actress. Originally discovered by Will Rogers, she was best known for her role as Little Harry in the 1927 silent film ''Uncle Tom's Cabin'' and also for her recurring appearances in the ''Our Gang'' films. Except for "Baby Peggy", Ahern was the last living performer who had a substantial career during Hollywood's silent era. Neely Edwards
Neely Edwards (born Cornelius Limbach; September 16, 1883 – July 10, 1965) was an American vaudeville performer and film actor. Biography Edwards appeared in 174 films between 1915 and 1959. The first was as an unbilled player in a Harold Lloyd short. In the early 1920s Edwards and his vaudeville partner Edward Flanagan appeared as the "Hall Room Boys" in some of the earliest short films produced by Cohn-Brandt-Cohn Film Sales, which would develop into Columbia Pictures. Of his credited film appearances, about 140 are comedy short subjects, notably the "Nervy Ned" one-reelers made for Universal Pictures from 1922 to 1924, in which he and Bert Roach played a couple of hoboes who typically get into slapstick trouble. His later career is marked by bit parts and character work. Edwards was married to actress Marguerite Snow. He was born in Delphos, Ohio, and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. Charles Emmett Vogan (September 27, 1893 – October 6, 1969) was an American actor with almost 500 film appearances from 1934 to 1954, making him, along with Bess Flowers, one of the most prolific film actors of all time.
