Patrick Charles Murphy, M.D., (September 14, 1868 – March 6, 1925) was a Canadian Senator and physician. Biography Born in Kinkora, Prince Edward Island on September 14, 1868, Murphy became a physician and prominent citizen in Tignish. He was a Conservative candidate in the riding of Prince during the 1911 federal election but was defeated by 115 votes. Patrick Murphy is an American television producer for the Nine Network of Public Media, the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri. He also serves as the station's Vice President of Production. The Texas 7 were a group of prisoners who escaped from the John B. Connally Unit near Kenedy, Texas, on December 13, 2000. Six of the seven were apprehended over a month later, between January 21–23, 2001, as a direct result of the television show ''America's Most Wanted''. The seventh committed suicide before he could be arrested. The six surviving members were all convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of Irving, Texas police officer Aubrey Wright Hawkins, who was shot and killed when responding to a robbery perpetrated by the Texas Seven. Patrick Murphy (January 15, 1823 – December 1, 1896) was a Union Navy sailor in the American Civil War and a recipient of the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions at the Battle of Mobile Bay. A native of Ireland, Murphy began his seafaring career as a teenager aboard merchant ships in the North Atlantic and served for two years in the Royal Navy. He joined the U.S. Navy after settling in Erie, Pennsylvania, and sailed the Great Lakes as a petty officer on . During the American Civil War, he served aboard and distinguished himself in the action at Mobile Bay. Patrick Murphy (1834–1862) was an Irish giant, born in County Down of parents James Murphy and mother Peggy (née Cunningham), who exhibited himself as a means of income.
