Patrick Jenkins (American Football)
Patrick Jenkins is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played for the TCU Horned Frogs, and the Tulane Green Wave. Early life and high school Jenkins attended John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana. As a junior, he notched 17 tackles for a loss and 15 sacks, while being named the 8-5A Defensive MVP as an all-district defensive lineman. After his senior season, Jenkins accepted an invite to play in the All-American Bowl. Recruiting Coming out of high school, Jenkins was rated as a four-star recruit and initially committed to play college football for the LSU Tigers over offers from schools such as TCU, Arkansas, Miami, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles.
