Paterson GlobalFoods (PGF) is a family-owned international agri-food business. It was established in 1908 as the N. M. Paterson Company. In 1912, N. M. Paterson built its first elevator at Fort William, with a handling capacity of 75,000 bushels. By 1928 the company, through construction and acquisition, owned 107 line elevators, and had entered the shipping business with the 1926 purchase of eleven steamers from the Interlake Steamship Company of Cleveland. Today, PatersonGlobalFoods operates several divisions in the food industry. It is headquartered at 333 Main St. in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Fort William was a city in Ontario, Canada, located on the Kaministiquia River, at its entrance to Lake Superior. It amalgamated with Port Arthur and the townships of Neebing and McIntyre to form the city of Thunder Bay in January 1970. Since then it has been the largest city in Northwestern Ontario. Interlake Steamship Company Of Cleveland
Interlake was a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created by redistribution in 1979, and has formally existed since the 1981 provincial election. Previously, much of the Interlake region was included in the constituency of St. George. As its name implies, Interlake was located between Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba, in the mid-northern section of the province. Interlake was bordered to the east by Lake Winnipeg, to the south by Lakeside and Gimli, to the north by Swan River, and to the west by Lake Manitoba. Communities in the riding include Arborg, Riverton, Ashern, Fraserwood. The Black and Deer Islands are also located in the riding.
