Pat The White
Patrick Leblanc, better known as Pat the White, is a Canadian musician from the Gaspé region of Quebec. Leblanc was born on July 21, 1975. He grew up in the town of Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec. He started playing guitar at a young age. It was his uncle who taught him the basics. In 1997, Leblanc left his home and worked for a while in Banff, Alberta. It was there that Leblanc discovered his biggest musical influence, The Allman Brothers Band. In 1999 he relocated to Quebec City and formed "The Pat The White Band". Since 1999, Leblanc has been playing festivals in and around Quebec. Festivals include the Mont Tremblant Blues Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Maximum Blues Festival, the "Woodstock en Beauce" Festival and the Sun Flower Gospel & Blues Festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi, U.S. In 2002, Leblanc was involved with a small group of Gaspésie musicians, including Nanette Workman, who went down to Clarksdale, Mississippi to experience the Blues at its roots. Carleton-sur-Mer
Carleton-sur-Mer is the fifth largest town of the Gaspésie's south shore, in southeastern Quebec, Canada, located on Route 132, along Chaleur Bay. It is the seat of the Avignon Regional County Municipality. The town's territory includes the communities of Biron, Caps-de-Maria, Carleton, Robitaille, and Saint-Omer. Nanette Workman
Nanette Joan Workman (born 20 November 1945, Brooklyn, New York, United States) is a singer-songwriter, actress and author, who has been based in Quebec, Canada, during much of her career. She holds dual citizenship of both the United States and Canada. She was raised by musician parents in Jackson, Mississippi, where she began her first performances. Although raised as an English speaker, she mainly performs in French. Downsview Park
Downsview Park is a large urban park located in the Downsview neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park's name is officially bilingual due to it being federally owned and managed, and was first home to de Havilland Canada, an aircraft manufacturer, and later was a Canadian Forces base. The park still contains Downsview Airport. In 1999, the Government of Canada declared it as "Canada's first urban national park." Rock The Park
RBC Rock the Park, formerly known as Start.ca Rocks the Park and Hawk Rocks the Park, is an annual music concert held at Harris Park in London, Ontario, Canada. From 2004 to 2008, it was primarily a classic rock concert sponsored by radio station 103.9 The Hawk. In 2010, the three-day concert was sponsored by three radio stations: 98.1 Free FM, FM96, and country music station BX93. For the first 12 years, the purpose of the event was to raise money for Bethany's Hope Foundation for MLD Research, which raised over $2.2 million. NXNE
North by Northeast (or NXNE) is an annual music and arts festival held each June in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The festival's main focus is live music, but it also includes an eSports gaming tournament, comedy, a conversations series, a flea market and more. "Whipping Post" is a song by The Allman Brothers Band. Written by Gregg Allman, the five-minute studio version first appeared on their 1969 debut album ''The Allman Brothers Band''. The song was regularly played live and was the basis for much longer and more intense performances. p. 15. This was captured in the Allman Brothers' 1971 double live album '' At Fillmore East'', where a 22-minute, 40-second rendition of the song takes up the entire final side. It was this recording that garnered "Whipping Post" spots on both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list and ''Rolling Stone''s list of " The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", which wrote, "the song is best appreciated in the twenty-three-minute incarnation on ''At Fillmore East''."
