Pass The Buck (Australian Game Show)
''Pass the Buck'' was an Australian game show hosted by John Burgess based on the American game show of the same name, airing on the Nine Network from 11 February 2002. Burgess began hosting the show after five years of hosting ''Burgo's Catch Phrase''. Before ''Pass the Buck'' went to air, Nine's Director of Programming at the time, John Stephens, was confident of Burgess as host, stating that he would "make the transition rom ''Burgo's Catch Phrase''to the new format without missing a beat". The show, which was introduced with others on Nine, such as ''Fear Factor'' and '' Shafted'', was short-lived. Nine announced in April 2002 that they would not be producing a second season. Brydon Coverdale (born 19 September 1981) is an Australian television quiz program personality best known for being one of the "chasers" on ''The Chase Australia'', where he is nicknamed "The Shark". John Richard Burgess (born 4 June 1943) is an Australian television and radio personality and host, often referred to as "Burgo" and from his radio days "Baby John Burgess" or "Baby John", as the youngest presenter at the station. ''Shafted'' was a British game show that aired on ITV from 5 to 26 November 2001 and was hosted by Robert Kilroy-Silk. Format The game begins with six players and is played in five rounds. In the first round, each player must secretly declare how much money they would like to receive, to a maximum of £25,000. Once the amounts are revealed, the person who has asked for the largest amount is immediately eliminated from the game and receives nothing. Each of the other five is credited with the amount they requested. In each of the next three rounds, the host reads the first few words of a question and invites the players to wager a portion of their totals. ''Fear Factor'' is an American stunt/ dare game show that first aired on NBC from 2001 to 2006 and was initially hosted by comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan. The show was adapted by Endemol USA from the original Dutch series titled ''Now or Neverland''. For the first five seasons, the contestants consisted regularly of three men and three women pitted against each other in a variety of three stunts for a grand prize, usually of $50,000. In the sixth season, the show's format was modified to feature four competing teams of two people who have a pre-existing relationship with one another.
