In Persian mythology, Persian cosmology, Paristan ( , ; also Koh-i-Qaf or Qafkuh) is the home of ''parī''s, which are supernatural beings originating from Persian mythology, Persian tales and wider Asian folklore that are described as winged creatures of immense beauty. Muslim folklore Although originating in pre-Islamic Persian literature, ''parī''s and Paristan were adopted in the wider Middle Eastern folklore and, through the spread of Islamic culture eastward, in the Muslim mythology of Central Asia, Central and South Asia. With ''parī''s being identified as benevolent (often female) jinn in early Quran translations into Persian, Paristan became what can be fairly compared with the fairyland, fairyland/elfame of European folklore. ''Paristan'' (; ) is a 1944 Indian Hindi-language fantasy film. The film was directed by Mahesh Kaul for Acharya Art productions. It starred Pahari Sanyal, Anjali Devi, Kamal Zamindar, Sunalini Devi, Moni Chatterjee and Padma Bannerjee. The music was composed by Ninu Majumdar and the lyrics were by Roopdas and Ninu Majumdar. This was Mahesh Kaul's second film after ''Angoori'' (1943). ''Paristan'' () is a Pakistani Ramadan special television drama series produced by Momina Duraid under the banner MD Productions, directed by Ali Hassan, and written by Samra Bukhari. It stars Arslan Naseer and Aymen Saleem in lead roles, with an ensemble cast of Javeria Saud, Naveen Waqar, Ali Safina, Mira Sethi, Merub Ali, Junaid Jamshed Niazi, and Asad Siddiqui in supporting roles, and YouTuber, Taimoor Salahuddin in his television debut.
