Parapolystichum Boivinii
''Parapolystichum'' is a genus of ferns in the family Dryopteridaceae, subfamily Elaphoglossoideae, in the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I). The genus is mainly native to the tropics, although its range extends to southeastern Australia. Taxonomy The taxon was first described as the section ''Parapolystichum'' of the genus '' Polystichum'' by Keyserling in 1873. It was raised to the rank of genus by Ching in 1940. ''Parapolystichum microsorum'', Synonym (taxonomy), synonym (in part) ''Lastreopsis microsora'', known as the creeping shield fern is a common small plant found in eastern Australia and New Zealand. The habitat is rainforest or moist sheltered eucalyptus forests. It may form large colonies.
