Greg Papadopoulos
Gregory Michael Papadopoulos (born 1958) is an American engineer, computer scientist, executive, and venture capitalist. He is the creator and lead proponent for Redshift, a theory on whether technology markets are over or under-served by Moore's Law. Biography Papadopoulos received a B.A. in systems science from the University of California, San Diego in 1979, and an S.M. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1983 and 1988. At some time he held positions at Hewlett-Packard and Honeywell. While a graduate student, he worked at the MIT spinoff PictureTel in its early days. His dissertation was on a dataflow architecture microprocessor, under his advisor Arvind. Along with David E. Culler, he developed a simplified approach to dataflow execution in a project named Monsoon. Papadopoulos became assistant professor at MIT in 1988 and associate professor in May 1993. Theologis Papadopoulos
Theologis Papadopoulos (; born 12 January 1960) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Papadopoulos started playing football in 1974 from the amateur team Eleftheriakos Eleftherion, while he became more widely known competing in the AEL from 1979. In 1984, he moved to AEK Athens, where after a few seasons, he became the main goalkeeper of the club. During his tenure at AEK, he also became an international. In 1988, even though he was a key player in the team for years, his career at AEK suddenly came to an end. On the eve of the cup rematch against Olympiacos, former AEK footballer Dinos Ballis visited the AEK team's hotel, offered a bouquet to Papadopoulos and was eventually suspected of attempted bribery. The match took place, Olympiacos won 1–3 and Papadopoulos had a poor performance. Efstathios "Tassos" Nikolaou Papadopoulos (; 7 January 1934 – 12 December 2008) was a Cypriot politician and barrister, who served as President of Cyprus from 2003 to 2008. An experienced member of the Makarios III’s cabinet, Papadopoulos took charge of the country’s parliament in 1976, two years after the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Turkish invasion, and became one the island’s most notable proponents of a hardline position on Cyprus peace process, Cypriot reunification. Panos Papadopoulos (born 1958 in Kertezi, Greece) is the founder, designer and entrepreneur behind Panos Emporio AB, established 1986 in Gothenburg, Sweden, the largest swimwear supplier in Scandinavia. Michal Papadopulos (born 14 April 1985) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a forward. Career Papadopulos started his football career in his native Ostrava at NH Ostrava, and then Baník Ostrava. He moved early to English club Arsenal in July 2003. Manolis Papadopoulos (; 22 April 1968 – 16 May 2025) was a Greek professional football player and manager who played as a defender. Club career Papadopoulos started his career in 1986 at Olympiacos. In the summer of 1989 he was loaned to Ionikos, where he was established as a regular. His performances earned him a transfer to the Greek champions, AEK Athens, in the summer of 1992. He was used in AEK most of the time as a substitute also having a few appearances as a starter, especially when Dušan Bajević used formation with three stoppers. Lefteris (Eleftherios) Papadopoulos (; born 14 November 1935) is a Greek lyricist, writer and journalist. Lefteris Papadopoulos was born in Athens, Greece on 14 November 1935. He was the son of Greek Pontian refugees, with a father from a village near Bursa in Turkey and a mother from a village near Novorossiysk in Russia. His parents were expelled in 1924 during the population exchange between Greece and Turkey. He enrolled at the Law School of the University of Athens but stopped during his third year in order to work as a journalist. Since 1959 Papadopoulos has worked in the newspaper Ta Nea and has become a popular columnist over time. Papadopoulos became involved with music in 1963.
