The following is the discography of Pantera, an American heavy metal band. Pantera formed in the early 1980s and released four studio albums in their early years through their own record label, Metal Magic Records. The band's major-label debut, '' Cowboys from Hell'' (1990), peaked at number 27 on the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers chart in the United States, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The following year, '' Cowboys from Hell: The Videos'' was released; it included video clips produced for ''Cowboys from Hell''. The video was certified gold by the RIAA. Pantera's second major-label album, '' Vulgar Display of Power'' (1992), reached number 44 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and was later certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association and the RIAA. Pantera
Pantera () is an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas in 1981 by the Abbott brothers (guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul), and currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. The group's best-known lineup consisted of the Abbott brothers along with Brown and Anselmo, who joined in 1982 and 1986, respectively. The band is credited for developing and popularizing the subgenre of groove metal in the 1990s. Regarded as one of the most successful and influential bands in heavy metal history, Pantera has sold around 20 million records worldwide and has received four Grammy Awards, Grammy nominations. ''Far Beyond Driven'' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Pantera, released on March 21, 1994 in the UK and March 22 internationally by Elektra Records and East West Records. Pantera's fastest-selling album, it peaked at number 1 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album was also certified Platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association. ''Far Beyond Driven'' is the first album by Pantera where the band's guitarist Darrell Abbott is credited as "Dimebag Darrell", having changed his nickname from "Diamond Darrell" soon after '' Vulgar Display of Power'' was released. ''3 Vulgar Videos from Hell'' is a DVD by American heavy metal band Pantera, released in 1999 and re-released in 2006. It combines all three of the band's previous home videos ('' Cowboys from Hell: The Videos'', ''Vulgar Video'', and '' 3 Watch It Go'') and features music videos, live performances, appearances, interviews, and footage of the band on tour and in the studio from mid-1989 to early 1997. In 2018, there have been several teasers on the band's official Instagram page for the release of home video number 4. There has been no indication so far as to the date of release. The video features band footage and includes music videos for "Planet Caravan", "I'm Broken" and "5 Minutes Alone" from the studio album ''Far Beyond Driven'' (1994), and for " Drag the Waters" from '' The Great Southern Trendkill'' (1996). ''The Great Southern Trendkill'' is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Pantera, released on May 7, 1996, through Elektra Records and East West Records. It reached number 4 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart and stayed on the chart for 16 weeks. During the album's production, Phil Anselmo recorded the vocals alone at Trent Reznor's Nothing Studios in New Orleans, while Dimebag Darrell, Rex Brown, and Vinnie Paul recorded the music at Chasin Jason Studios in Dalworthington Gardens. "Planet Caravan" is a song by the English Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Black Sabbath. It was originally released on their 1970 album ''Paranoid (album), Paranoid''. Overview Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler – who composed the song's lyrics – said the song is about floating through the universe with one's lover. Black Sabbath lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne uses a Leslie speaker to achieve the vocals' treble and vibration effects. The piano parts on the track were played by album engineer Tom Allom. Iommi overdubbed flute to the reversed multitrack master which was then re-forwarded and treated with stereo delay.
