Pandukabhaya Of Anuradhapura
Pandukabhaya was a king of Upatissa Nuwara and the first monarch of the Anuradhapura Kingdom and 6th over all of the island of Sri Lanka since the arrival of the Vijaya; he reigned from 437 BC to 367 BC. According to many historians and philosophers, he is the first truly Sri Lankan king since the Vijayan migration, and also the king who ended the conflict between the Sinha clan and the local clans, reorganising the population. He was the only child of Princess Unmadachithra (daughter of King Panduvasdew and Queen Baddhakachchana) and Prince Dighagamini (son of Prince Digayu and Princess Disala). Pandula was his teacher and Pandula's son Chandra was his advisor. Tissa Of Upatissa Nuwara
Tissa was king of Upatissa Nuwara (modern-day Sri Lanka) from 454 BC to 437 BC. He succeeded his older brother Abhaya after his deposition. Tissa was appointed the regent by his eight younger brothers but would only be consecrated king after he had finally defeated his nephew Pandukabhaya. However, he was deposed by Pandukabhaya. Aba (film)
''Aba'' is a 2008 Sinhalese film directed by Jackson Anthony and co-produced by Justin Belagamage and Rajindra Jayasinghe for Mandakini Creations. The title is derived from ''Pandu Aba'', another name for the title character. Anthony’s son, Sajitha Anthony, portrays Pandukabhaya. The film also features Malini Fonseka, Ravindra Randeniya, Sriyantha Mendis, Sabeetha Perera and many other popular actors. It was released in Sri Lanka on 8 August 2008. Plans were made to screen the film in several other countries, including China, Italy and Australia. Vijaya Of Sri Lanka
Prince Vijaya (c. 543–505 BCE) was a legendary king of Tambapanni, based in modern day Sri Lanka. His reign was first mentioned in ''Mahāvaṃsa.'' He is said to have came to Sri Lanka with seven hundred followers after being banished from Sinhapura. However, there is no archaeological evidence of this. After arriving on the island, Vijaya and his settlers defeated a yaksha near "Thammena" (Tambapaṇṇī) displacing the inhabitants. Eventually Vijaya married Kuveni, a daughter of a yaksha leader legitimizing Vijaya’s rule over the region. Mutasiva Of Anuradhapura
Mutasiva (, ) was ruler of the Kingdom of Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka, based at the ancient capital of Anuradhapura. He ruled from 367 BC to 307 BC. He had ten sons, some of whom were his successors such Devanampiya Tissa, Uttiya, Mahasiva, Suratissa and Asela. Mutasiva was the son of King Pandukabhaya. The king ruled for sixty years which was an unbroken peaceful era of the country. He was the creator of Mahamevnāwa Park in Anuradhapura which is the only historical record of his accomplishments.
