Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), also known as the National Olympic Committee of Pakistan (NOC; , acronym: POA), is the national Olympic organization in Pakistan. It was established in 1948 to oversee the active participation of the newly independent state at the Olympiad. Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy
Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy (8 September 18925 December 1963) was an East Pakistani barrister, politician and statesman who served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1956 to 1957 and before that as the Prime Minister of Bengal from 1946 to 1947. In both Pakistan and Bangladesh, Suhrawardy is regarded as a patron of Two-Nation Theory, separate homeland for the Muslims, especially for Bengali Muslims, for which he is revered as one of the List of Pakistan Movement activists, founding statesmen of Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission (colloquially known as HEC) is a statutory body formed by the Government of Pakistan which was established in 2002 under the Chairmanship of Atta-ur-Rahman. Water & Power Development Authority
The Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (), colloquially known as WAPDA, is a Pakistani government-owned public utility agency maintaining hydropower and water in Pakistan, although it does not manage thermal power plants. Syed Arif Hasan (born 11 Nov 1950) is a Pakistani former sports administrator and retired three-star rank general who served as the president of the Pakistan Olympic Association for over 20 years, a time period when the country did not win any medals. Syed Wajid Ali () (20 December 1911 – 14 June 2008) was a leading industrialist of Pakistan who is also known for his services to the Olympic Movement for 26 years. He became the President of Pakistan Olympic Association in 1978 and stayed on the post for 26 years until he retired in 2004 to become the longest serving president in the history of the association.
