Pafman In U.S.A.
Pafman is a Spanish comic character created by cartoonist Joaquín Cera in 1987, protagonist of the series of the same name. The main characters of the strip are Pafman, a bungling superhero and his sidekick Pafcat, an anthropomorphic cat and inventor. Both of them cause many disasters while fighting supervillains. Characteristics Pafman is a clumsy, bungling superhero who is determined to fight evil, even though people probably would be better off without him. The name of the series is an obvious pun with Batman but the two characters have very little in common. The mood of the comic is based on non stopping jokes and for this the author use surreal situations, slapstick, puns, breaking the fourth wall and parodies. There are also influences from manga. A good example of the level of weirdness that the comic could reach up is in the strip titled ''El caso de las gafas churrifocales'' that begins with a confidant of Pafman being killed by "four hundred masked men with glasses and ... Joaquín Cera
Joaquín Cera (born 1967 in Barcelona) is a Spanish comic book writer more famous for his ''Pafman'' strip. He studied in the comic school Escola Joso and he began his career in the world of humor when he signed by Editorial Bruguera, where he started to draw cartoons in the ''Mortadelo'' magazine, that soon disappeared, along with the editorial. With the creation in 1986 of Ediciones B, that inherited the rights of Bruguera publications, Cera went on the payroll, beginning the most prolific period of his career as a cartoonist. Sometimes alone, with characters like ''Pafman'' (created in 1987, about a bumbling superhero with an anthropomorphous cat siderick) or ''Dr. Pacostein'' (created in 1991 about the misadventures of a mad scientist in love with a nurse of his job), sometimes making tandem with Juan Carlos Ramis with characters such as ''Los Xunguis'' (a group of thug extraterrestrials) or some pages featuring the characters of José Escobar Saliente, Escobar ''Zipi y Zape' ... Superlópez is a Spanish comic book character created by Jan. Created in 1973, Superlópez is a parody of Superman. Born ''Jo-Con-Él'' (translated as ''Damn-with-him'') on the planet ''Chitón'' (Spanish slang meaning something like ''Shut up!'') much like Superman's home planet of Krypton, he leaves his planet when he enters a spaceship and presses a button, an accident that sends him to Earth. He was raised by adoptive parents in Barcelona and concealed himself under the identity of office-worker ''Juan López'' (which is actually author Jan's real name). He works with his girlfriend, the bad-tempered '' Luisa Lanas'', the not-so-pally '' Jaime González Lidenbrock''; and his demanding, unnamed boss. This was revealed in the 8-page origin story in the first issue of his magazine. Cabezones is an Argentine hardcore-alternative rock band. History Formation The band, originally from the city of Santa Fe, was formed in 1994. At first, their music was punk, with songs such as "Uniformado de Cagón", but they left that genre behind to start making so-called "hardcore-dark" music. In 1997 they released ''Hijos de una nueva tierra'', which was published by the independent record label Mentes Abiertas, which they first met in a compilation album along with other alternative rock bands. ''Alas'' and ''Eclipse (Sol)'' In 1998 the band decided to move to Buenos Aires. Their new record, ''Alas'', produced by ex-Soda Stereo member Zeta Bosio, was edited by Sony Music later that year. This meant a change in the sound direction to a heavier and darker music. In 2002, ''Alas'' was edited in Mexico, followed by a ten-month tour throughout the country.
