Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler
The Northrop Grumman (formerly Grumman) EA-6B Prowler is a twin-engine, four-seat, mid-wing electronic-warfare aircraft. Operated by both the United States Marine Corps and United States Navy between 1971 and 2019, it was derived from the A-6 Intruder airframe. The aircraft's immediate predecessor, the ''EA-6A'', was an interim conversion of the A-6 airframe to perform electronic warfare missions during the 1960s. In 1966, work on the more advanced EA-6B commenced. It featured an enlarged four-seat cockpit, a fully integrated electronic warfare system, and advanced electronic countermeasures. Furthermore, it was suitable for long-range, all-weather carrier-based operations in addition to land-based uses. Typically, the aircrew of an EA-6B consisted of a single pilot and three Electronic Countermeasures Officers, though it was not uncommon for only two ECMOs to be used on missions. Rumpler 6B
The Rumpler 6B was a German floatplane fighter aircraft, fighter designed during World War I by Rumpler Flugzeugwerke for the Imperial German Navy's () Naval Air Service (). The 6B1 was a single-seat version of the Rumpler C.I Reconnaissance aircraft, reconnaissance biplane that entered service in mid-1916. The 6B2 was an improved version based on the Rumpler C.IV; deliveries of the 6B2 began in mid-1917. Small numbers of aircraft were exported to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kingdom of Bulgaria, and Finland; one of the Finnish aircraft participated in the Finnish Civil War. The 6B1s were reasonably successful in combat, able to hold its own against enemy land-based aircraft, but they lacked the advantages offered by the new two-seat floatplane fighters entering service when the 6B2 became available. "6B" is the 14th episode of the third season of the American science fiction drama television series ''Fringe'', and the 57th episode overall. In the episode, the fringe team investigates mysterious deaths at an apartment building, the result of a merging between the prime and parallel universes; while there, they encounter a woman who claims to be able to see the ghost of her deceased husband. Story editors Glen Whitman and Robert Chiappetta co-wrote "6B", while cinematographer Thomas Yatsko directed. Keratin 6B
Keratin 6B is a type II cytokeratin, one of a number of isoforms of keratin 6. It is found with keratin 16 and/or keratin 17 in the hair follicles, the filiform papillae of the tongue and the epithelial lining of oral mucosa and esophagus. This keratin 6 isoform is thought be less abundant than the closely related keratin 6A protein. Mutations in the gene encoding this protein have been associated with pachyonychia congenita, an inherited disorder of the epithelial tissues in which this keratin is expressed, particularly leading to structural abnormalities of the nail (anatomy), nails, the Epidermis (skin), epidermis of the palms and soles, and oral epithelia. British Rail Class 203
The British Rail Class 203, initially classified 6B, was a type of diesel-electric train. Seven units, numbered 1031-1037, were constructed in 1958 for use on the Southern Region. They were similar to the earlier Class 202 units, differing only in the substitution of a trailer buffet car for one of the three trailer second opens. Operations The units were delivered in 1958 in then-standard British Railways green livery. They worked initially on the Hastings–Tonbridge–London /Cannon Street line. 6b/8b Encoding
In telecommunications, 6b/8b is a line code that expands 6-bit codes to 8-bit symbols for the purposes of maintaining DC-balance in a communications system. The 6b/8b encoding is a balanced code -- each 8-bit output symbol contains 4 zero bits and 4 one bits. So the code can, like a parity bit, detect all single-bit errors. The number of 8-bit patterns with 4 bits set is the binomial coefficient \tbinom 84 = 70. Oflag VI-B was a World War II German prisoner-of-war camp for officers (''Offizierlager''), southwest of the village of Dössel (now part of Warburg) in Germany. It held French, British, Polish and other Allied officers. Camp history In 1939, before it was a POW camp, the area was originally planned to be an airfield. The POW camp was opened in September 1940. At first French, and then British officers were housed there. The serial escaper Eric Foster in his autobiography explained that upon arrival he chatted to a guard to ask about the conditions of the camp. Foster explained the guard confided, "the camp was a very, very bad camp indeed". Foster stressed that this guard desperately wanted the prisoners to complain about the conditions, with the guard believing that if they harassed the camp command about the conditions, the camp would be closed down.
