Adam 'Paddy' Mark Henderson (born in 1906 in Clifton, Bristol) is a former Team GB athlete. Athletics career Henderson began his athletics career in Cheltenham competing as a sprinter and a long jumper. In 2011, aged 14 he began competing in the Decathlon. 18 months later, he was crowned Under 17 English Decathlon Champion after a run of 11 gold medals in 11 national meetings in September 2012. Henderson went on to compete for Team GB Juniors and Team GB in a number of domestic and international meets. He retired from athletics at 18 due to a reoccurring knee injury. P Henderson & Company, also known as Paddy Henderson, was a ship owning and management company based in Glasgow, Scotland and operating to Burma. Patrick Henderson started business in Glasgow as a merchant at the age of 25 in 1834. He had three brothers. Two were merchants working for an agent in the Italian port of Leghorn; the third, George, was a sea captain with his own ship. The brothers together invested in their first ship, the ''Peter Senn'', and the business grew from there. Patrick died in 1841, and the business was taken over by his brother, Captain George Henderson. In 1848, George took into partnership a young man of outstanding ability, James Galbraith, who expanded the business from merchants, to ship owners and ship managers. The Company started trading to New Zealand in 1854 with sailing ships carrying Scottish emigrants, and the Royal Mail. Patrick Henderson (born 1937) is an Irish former association football, footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Football career Henderson began his career at Holyhead Town in Wales before signing for League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers F.C., Shamrock Rovers in 1961. He was key first team player and made two appearances in the European Champion Clubs' Cup while at Glenmalure Park against SK Rapid Wien. Henderson signed for Drogheda United, in 1965 before retiring with a back injury in 1967. Family Henderson has three sons involved in football. Eldest son, Dave Henderson (footballer), Dave was a goalkeeper who had two spells with the Hoops in the 1970s and 1990s, he is best known for his long term association with Bohemian F.C. It supports a network of over 1,200 food bank centres to provide emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for long-term change to the structural issues that lock people into poverty. Pat Henderson (hurler)
Pat Henderson (born 30 January 1943) is an Irish retired hurling manager and former player. Born in Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Henderson first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Thurles CBS. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team, before later joining the under-21 team. He made his senior debut during the 1964 championship. Henderson went on to play a key role over the next fifteen years, and one five All-Ireland medals, eight Leinster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on five occasions. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Henderson won six Railway Cup medals. At club level he is a one-time Leinster medallist with Fenians. In addition to this he also won five championship medals.
