PXE (EP)
''PXE'' (pronounced "pixie") is an EP by Swedish singer Ecco2K, released on 31 March 2021 through Year0001. Production and composition A surprise album, it was accompanied by a video from artist and animator Freddy Carrasco, where Ecco meets up with an alter ego named Echo while hanging out on a transmission tower. The visuals were inspired by anime and the dialogue box from the ''Pokémon'' games. The album's title was taken from the idea of "pixie music". Unlike his previous album '' E'', ''PXE'' was produced entirely by Ecco2K. It was the first project he finished upon returning to Sweden. Ecco2K said the album is "more about sincerity, being raw and unfiltered," adding "it's about being okay with the way that I am." Reception In a 7.0/10 review to ''Pitchfork'', Ben Dandridge-Lemco wrote that, "with glitchy stops and starts that attract and repel, ''PXE'' sounds like an exciting and exploratory new direction", and that the album is "a testament to Ecco2k's evolution as a ...

Surprise Album
A surprise album or surprise release is an album or single (music), single with little or no prior announcement, marketing or promotion. The strategy contrasts traditional album releases, which typically feature weeks or months of advertising in the form of singles, music videos, tour announcements and album pre-sales. Often, the release of a surprise album is the formal announcement of its release. This strategy developed in part due to the prevalence of album Music leak, leaks on the Internet during the 2000s and became popular by the mid-2010s among high-profile recording acts. History Precursors English musician David Bowie's studio album ''Toy (David Bowie album), Toy'', intended for release in March 2001, was originally conceived with the intention of being recorded and released as quickly as possible, foregoing traditional promotional cycles in the process. While the album was ultimately shelved, not seeing an official release until 2021, the concept was regarded by an ...

Pixie
A pixie (also called pisky, pixy, pixi, pizkie, piskie, or pigsie in parts of Cornwall and Devon) is a mythical creature of British folklore. Pixies are speculated to be particularly concentrated in the high moorland areas around Devon and Cornwall, suggesting some Celtic origin for the belief and name. However, the word 'pixie' (under various forms) also appears in Dorset, Somerset and to a lesser extent in Sussex, Wiltshire and Hampshire. Similar to the Irish and Scottish '' Aos Sí'' (also spelled ''Aos Sidhe''), pixies are believed to inhabit ancient underground sites such as stone circles, barrows, dolmens, ringforts, or menhirs. In traditional regional lore, pixies are generally benign, mischievous, short of stature, and childlike; they are fond of dancing and wrestling outdoors, of which they perform through the night. In the modern era, they are usually depicted with pointed ears, often wearing a green outfit and pointed hat. Traditional stories describe them as ...

It originally covered alternative and independent music, and expanded to cover genres including pop, hip-hop, jazz and metal. In the 2000s, ''Pitchfork'' distinguished itself from print media through its unusual editorial style, frequent updates and coverage of emerging acts. It was praised as passionate, authentic and unique, but criticized as pretentious, mean-spirited and elitist, playing into stereotypes of the cynical hipster. It is credited with popularizing acts such as Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens. ''Pitchfork'' relocated to Chicago in 1999 and Brooklyn, New York, in 2011. It expanded with projects including the annual Pitchfork Music Festival (launched in Chicago in 2006), the video site ''Pitchf ...

Year0001 Albums
A year is a unit of time based on how long it takes the Earth to orbit the Sun. In scientific use, the tropical year (approximately 365 solar days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, 45 seconds) and the sidereal year (about 20 minutes longer) are more exact. The modern calendar year, as reckoned according to the Gregorian calendar, approximates the tropical year by using a system of leap years. The term 'year' is also used to indicate other periods of roughly similar duration, such as the lunar year (a roughly 354-day cycle of twelve of the Moon's phasessee lunar calendar), as well as periods loosely associated with the calendar or astronomical year, such as the seasonal year, the fiscal year, the academic year, etc. Due to the Earth's axial tilt, the course of a year sees the passing of the seasons, marked by changes in weather, the hours of daylight, and, consequently, vegetation and soil fertility. In temperate and subpolar regions around the planet, four seasons are generally recogn ...
