Out of this Spark is an independent record label founded in the fall of 2006 by Stuart Duncan in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The label is an artist-focused label that works to release fun, exciting and innovative music, with a focus a facilitating the distribution of music to the masses for musicians in a participatory fashion. The label is different in the sense that they do not own any of their artists' master recordings or publishing rights.from their "About" section at www.outofthispark.com Out of this Spark's first release was a 2007 benefit compilation for the Daily Bread Food Bank, entitled ''Friends in Bellwoods''. Jenny Mitchell, better known by the stage name Jenny Omnichord, is a Canadians, Canadian indie rock musician. She has released three solo albums and an extended play, EP as a solo artist, and also records and performs with the bands The Barmitzvah Brothers and The Burning Hell (band), The Burning Hell. Tasseomancy is a Canadian experimental band from Toronto formed by twin sisters Sari and Romy Lightman. Biography Born in c. 1985 and raised in Toronto, the Lightman twins moved to Halifax to attend university. There the sisters began performing under the moniker Ghost Bees that they described as "experimental acoustic folk". The duo released their debut EP ''Tasseomancy'' on April 8, 2008, via Youth Club Records as Ghost Bees. The pair toured around North America in support of the record. ''Friends in Bellwoods II'' is a compilation album, released in 2009 by Out of This Spark as a benefit for Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank. The album is a sequel to the 2007 compilation '' Friends in Bellwoods''. Considered to be a successful follow-up to the smaller scale previous LPs which garnered a minute but faithful following, the album was a long list nominee for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize and the song "Lay Down in the Tall Grass" has been shortlisted for SOCAN'S ECHO prize.
