Our Lady of Zeitoun, also known simply as El-Zeitoun, Zeitun or rarely Our Lady of Light, was a mass Marian apparition that was reported to have occurred in the Zeitoun district of Cairo, Egypt, during a period of about 3 years beginning on 2 April 1968. Apparition The first apparition of the Virgin Mary at Zeitoun was recorded on the evening of 2 April 1968. The phenomenon was seen by two Muslim bus mechanics, who claimed to witness a woman dressed in white on the roof of Saint Mary's Coptic Church. One thought she was a nun about to attempt suicide by leaping from the roof, and called for police. Intrigued by the mechanics yelling "don't jump!", a crowd gathered at the site. The police attempted to disperse them, saying that the sighting was just a reflection of the light from the street lamps. The Our Lady of Light Cathedral ( pt, Catedral Nossa Senhora da Luz) Also Guarabira Cathedral Is the name given to a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church in the municipality of Guarabira, in the state of Paraiba. It is the main temple of the Diocese of Guarabira in Brazil. By provincial decree on April 27, 1837, the parish of Our Lady of Light was built, owned by the Archdiocese of North Parahyba. On 10 October 1980, with Bull "Cum Exoparet" and the canonical erection of the diocese of Guarabira, the Parish of Our Lady of Light was elevated to the dignity of the cathedral. The beginning of the present building dates from 1857 in a Renaissance architecture, and in 1981 underwent a renovation that left a sample of a classic and modern architecture. It is located in the center of Guarabira. Inside, it houses an image of Christ and the patroness of Our Lady of Light that is 1884, and a Via Crucis and a tabernacle all carved in wood. The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Light, popularly known as Cainta Church (Spanish: Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Lumen), is a Roman Catholic parish church located along Andres Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal, in the Philippines. The church also operates a neighboring school, Cainta Catholic College. From its time of erection as a parish in 1760 until 1983, it belonged to the Archdiocese of Manila. It was placed under the newly created Diocese of Antipolo in 1983, which is now headed by Francisco M. De Leon. It belongs to the Vicariate of Our Lady of Light. On 6 December 2017, Pope Francis granted the papal bull of canonical coronation towards its enshrined Marian image and it was crowned on 1 December 2018.
