Oullins Centre Station
Oullins () is a former commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. It is a suburb of the city of Lyon, and is adjacent to it on the southwest. On 1 January 2024, Oullins merged with Pierre-Bénite to form the new commune of Oullins-Pierre-Bénite. Oullins-Pierre-Bénite () is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. It was established on 1 January 2024, with the merger of the communes of Oullins and Pierre-Bénite. It is a suburb of the city of Lyon Lyon (Franco-Provençal: ''Liyon'') is a city in France. Patrice Garande (born 27 November 1960) is a French former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football)#Striker, striker, currently a Manager (association football), manager. Playing career Club Born in Oullins, Rhône (department), Rhône, Garande finished his development at AS Saint-Étienne, but appeared rarely for the first team during his tenure. In 1981, following a spell in the Swiss Super League with CS Chênois, he signed with AJ Auxerre, scoring a career-best 21 goals in the 1983–84 French Division 1, 1983–84 season to help them finish in third place in Ligue 1 and becoming top scorer in the process. Jean-Louis Ubaud (born 1959 in Oullins) is a French politician, a member of the Socialist Party. He is a municipal and former departmental councillor in Oullins, in the department of Rhône. Life Ubaud was born in Oullins in 1959 into a family that migrated there in the 19th century to work for the PLM railway company. He worked in the metal-working industry, first as a technician and then in sales. In addition to his political work, he now works in the town hall at Lyon. Charles William or Guillaum Joseph Émile Le Gendre (August 26, 1830– September 1, 1899) was a French-born American officer and diplomat who served as advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Empire of Japan from 1872 to 1875 and as advisor to Emperor Gojong of the Korean Empire from 1890 to 1899. Patrick De Gayardon
Patrick de Gayardon (; 23 January 1960 in Oullins, Rhône – 13 April 1998 in Hawaii) was a French skydiver, skysurfer and a BASE jumper. De Gayardon was famous for pushing the boundaries of skydiving. He was one of the first people to develop the unique style of skysurfing, in which skydivers use a snowboard to make aerobatic maneuvers. He also made many famous stunts with his development of a ram-air wingsuit, starting modern-day wingsuiting. Louis Charles Émile Lortet
Louis Charles Émile Lortet (22 August 1836 – 26 December 1909) was a French physician, botanist, zoologist and Egyptologist who was a native of Oullins. He earned his medical doctorate in 1861, and his degree in natural sciences in 1867. He served as premier dean (education), doyen at the Faculty of Medicine of Lyon from 1877 until 1906. Also, from 1868 to 1909, he was director of the natural history museum in Lyon. Lortet is remembered for his scientific and zoological expeditions to the Middle East (Syria, Lebanon and Egypt). He performed studies of mummy, mummified animals from the New Kingdom of Egypt, New Kingdom of ancient Egypt, and in 1880 took part in an excavation of a Phoenician necropolis.
