Ottawa-Kent Conference
The Ottawa-Kent Conference is an athletic league located in West Michigan. Its current leader is David VanNoord. It has member schools from Allegan, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, and Ottawa Counties. It has 48 member schools that partake in athletics. According to the Michigan High School Athletic Association, MHSAA they have the main offices located at Grandville High School. Members * Note: The class and population size are from the 2023-24 MHSAA listings. The # next to the year admitted is for founding members. Classifications As of the 2006-07 school year the conference has put a requirement in writing for which sports they want all schools to have a varsity level program in. Those include Baseball, Basketball (boys & girls), Football, Softball (girls), Track & Field (boys & girls), Volleyball (girls), and Wrestling They also listed a second group of sports which they want a minimal of two more sports in varsity level. West Michigan
West Michigan and Western Michigan are terms for a region in the U.S. state of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Generally, it refers to the Grand Rapids- Muskegon-Holland area, and more broadly to most of the region along the Lower Peninsula's Lake Michigan shoreline, but there is no official definition. Definition In general, "West Michigan" often refers to the area bounded by the cities of Muskegon (in the north), Grand Rapids (in the northeast), Kalamazoo– Battle Creek (in the southeast) and St. Joseph–Benton Harbor (in the southwest). Grand Haven High School (GHHS) is a public secondary school in Grand Haven Township, Michigan, United States (with a mailing address in the city of Grand Haven). Mona Shores High School
Mona Shores High School is a public high school in Norton Shores, Michigan, United States. It serves grades 9-12 for Mona Shores Public Schools. History Mona Shores Public Schools was formed by merging five K-8 school districts into one K-12 district on September 14, 1959. A construction bond was passed in the spring of 1960 and Mona Shores High School opened for the 1962-63 school year. Muskegon High School
Muskegon High School is a public high school located in Muskegon, Michigan, and was the first high school in Muskegon County, Michigan. History The Class of 1875, consisting of two girls, was the first from Muskegon High School. Records show there were 102 students enrolled at the high school, and employed three teachers. On December 14, 1890, a fire completely destroyed the Central School. The loss was serious, as the building accommodated 700 students. Following the disaster, local lumber baron Charles Hackley (January 3, 1837 – January 10, 1905) offered to furnish money to build two new schools. One, a new high school located on Jefferson at Washington Avenue, opened in September 1893. The second, the Hackley School, rose on the site of the original Central school. In 1895, Hackley followed that pledge with money to build a Manual Training School, designed to provide training for pupils seeking education in the industrial arts. Jenison High School is the senior high school for Jenison Public Schools located in Jenison, Michigan serving grades 9 through 12. Unity Christian High School (Hudsonville)
Unity Christian High School is a private school, private Christian school located in Hudsonville, Michigan, Hudsonville, Michigan. It is a member of Christian Schools International. Hudsonville High School
Hudsonville High School, is a public high school located in Hudsonville, Michigan. It serves grades 9-12 for the Hudsonville Public Schools. It serves all of Hudsonville and small portions of Allendale and Jenison. It also includes the majority of Jamestown Charter Township and portions of the following townships: Blendon, Georgetown, and Zeeland, as well as a small portion of Allendale Charter Township. West Ottawa High School
West Ottawa High School is located in Ottawa County, Michigan. It is one of the four high schools in the Holland, Michigan area (along with Holland High School, Holland Christian High School and Black River Public School.) Holland Christian High School
Holland Christian High School is a private, Calvinist high school in the city of Holland, Michigan. Holland Christian's colors are maroon and white, and their nickname is "The Maroons". Holland Christian High School is the only grade 9–12 building in the Holland Christian Schools system. History By 1963 the school had 264 students in the tenth grade, 289 in the 12th grade, and other grades ranging 173-200 students.
