Order Of Izzuddin
The Most Honourable Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (), or more informally the Order of Nishan Izzuddin, is the highest Maldivian honour which may be conferred upon a foreign national. The Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin is dedicated to Sultan al-Ghazi Hassan Izzuddin Sri Kula Ranmiba Kahthiri Bawana Maharadun. Insignia *The ''collar'' is made of gold with alternating eight-pointed gold stars with green centres, each with a gold upward-pointing crescent encircling a gold five-pointed star, and eight-pointed gold stars with white crescents. *The ''badge'' is an eight-pointed gold star with a green centre, in the middle of which is a white upward-curving crescent encircling two crossed national flags in gold. *The ''sash'' is worn passing from the right shoulder to the left hip, the badge being pinned on the sash at the left hip. Mohamed Zahir Hussain, () is a Maldivian politician and former teacher who is currently the chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives. Education Zahir studied at Al-Azhar University in 1971, and in 2001, received a PhD in Malaysia in 2001. Career After coming back to Maldives from studying at Al-Azhar University, Zahir became an Islam teacher at Aminiya School. Later, president Ibrahim Nasir appointed Zahir as a lawyer in the Ministry of Education. Naseema Mohamed
Naseema Mohamed, (also known as Naseema Mohamed Kaleyfaanu) was the former First Lady of the Maldives from 1969 to 1978 and the third wife of former President of the Maldives, President Ibrahim Nasir. After Ibrahim Nasir went into self-exile to Singapore on 7 December 1978, Naseema continued to live in Male' and worked as a historian for the National Centre for Linguistic and Historic Research. She has written extensively on early History of the Maldives, Maldivian history and the Dhivehi language, Dhivehi language. She had also previously worked as a nurse. Moomina Haleem
Moomina Haleem Ahmed Ismail, , (born 1939) is a Maldivian former politician. In 1974 she became the first woman to be elected to the People's Majlis. Three years later she also became the first woman appointed as a cabinet minister. Biography Haleem trained to be a nurse, including a one-year fellowship at the Australian College of Nursing in Melbourne, becoming the first Maldivian woman to complete higher studies in nursing. She became a matron in the government hospital in Malé in 1963 and a member of the Royal College of Nursing. In 1970 she married Kandi Ahmed Ismail Maniku, a businessman in the tourism trade.
