''Orange UnsignedAct'' (known as ''mobileAct Unsigned'' during its first series) was a Channel 4 talent competition, with bands and artists competing for a recording contract with Universal Music, a £60,000 advance, a single released after the series, an album deal and a multi-media marketing campaign. (The £60,000 was allocated as follows: 50% on completion of the recording contract and confirmation of the winner and 50% on delivery of the final mixed, mastered and cleared album.) Alex Zane (born Faris Alexander L. Albayaty) is an English television presenter and DJ. Early and personal life Zane was born in Leeds and attended Boston Spa School before going on to study Medicine at University College London, a course which he left after a year, and then Media and Communications at Goldsmiths College. His father is an academic based in Trinidad and his mother a charity worker from Leeds, though a March 2014 interview with the ''Evening Standard'' reports that "Wikipedia has Zane's real name as Faris Alexander L Albayaty but when I email asking him to clarify this and some other family details his responses are prompt, polite and discreetly uninformative". Hip Parade
Hip Parade are a Scottish pop band from Glasgow, who formed in 2008. They are best known for supporting The Stereophonics on their 2010 UK arena tour and appearing on Channel 4's '' Orange Unsigned Act''. The band have appeared twice at Scotland's premier festival T in the Park and also appeared on the main stage of RockNess Festival in 2010. TV success The band were featured on the Channel 4 show '' Orange Unsigned Act'' in 2009. The band beat 7000 other acts to finish in second place behind fellow Scotsman Tommy Reilly. Pringles Unsung
Pringles Unsung was a music competition in the United Kingdom that ran once from 2006 to 2007. It was sponsored by the Pringles snack brand, and was one of several brand-sponsored music competitions to be launched during this period. The competition invited unsigned artists to upload a song to the official Pringles Unsung website, where they could then be voted on by the general public and a panel of judges. The most popular songs from each of seven regions progressed to regional heats in Newcastle upon Tyne, Birmingham, Ipswich, Kingston upon Thames, Leeds, Bristol and Plymouth. The winners of the regional heats then competed in a grand final, where they each performed in front of the judging panel. 4Music was a British music television channel owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation. Launched on 15 August 2008, the original incarnation, replacing The Hits television channel, showed a mix of music and entertainment programming. On 29 June 2022, 4Music transitioned to a full-time channel on the space formerly containing Box Hits, with E4 Extra, a new sister channel and extension of E4, taking over its original space. T4 (Channel 4)
''T4'' was a scheduling slot on Channel 4 (''T4 Saturday'' usually 9 am until 2 pm) and E4 (''T4 Sunday'' usually 9 am until 5 pm). It also aired on weekdays in the school holidays. The slot had a separate station identification on screen graphic from Channel 4 and E4. Channel 4 originally produced the strand in-house until 2002, when production was passed onto independent companies. The slot was targeted at the 16–24 age group. Until 25 March 2012, ''T4'' aired on Channel 4 both Saturday and Sunday. To make way for the introduction of '' Sunday Brunch'' in March 2012, ''T4 Sunday'' was later moved to run on E4. Tommy Reilly (Scottish Singer-Songwriter)
Tommy Reilly (born 7 March 1989) is a Scottish singer–songwriter from Torrance, East Dunbartonshire. He gained recognition after winning the Channel 4 TV show ''Orange unsignedAct''. Shortly after, Reilly's first single "Gimme A Call" reached number 14 in the UK Singles Chart in its first week of release. Reilly released his debut album, '' Words on the Floor'', in 2009. His follow-up, ''Hello! I'm Tommy Reilly'', was released less than a year later on 14 June 2010. Envy & Other Sins was a four-piece band from Birmingham, England, who came to fame by winning Channel 4's nationwide talent show, '' mobileAct unsigned''. They were the winners of the show, on which they won a £60,000 record contract with A&M Records. The contract allowed them to release one album and two singles.
