One Vice At A Time
''One Vice at a Time'' is the sixth studio album by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus (band), Krokus, released in 1982 by Arista Records. It is notable for the strong influence of Australian hard rock band AC/DC on the songs and production, and was the first album to feature Mark Kohler on rhythm guitar. It includes a cover of the Guess Who's song "American Woman (song), American Woman". The song "Long Stick Goes Boom" is used in the video game ''Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories'' on the fictional in-game radio station "V-Rock". Bruce Dickinson, who at the time had just been hired as Iron Maiden's new lead vocalist, provides backing vocals on the track "I'm on the Run". Producer Tony Platt was best known for his prior work as engineer with AC/DC. UK-based company Rock Candy Records reissued the album on CD in 2014. Krokus (band)
Krokus is a Swiss hard rock band formed in 1975. They were popular in North America during the 1980s. The band was founded in Solothurn in 1975 by Chris von Rohr (vocals and multi-instruments) and Tommy Kiefer (guitar), both former members of Kaktus. Former TEA vocalist Marc Storace joined the band as frontman in time for their '' Metal Rendez-vous'' album in 1980. History Formation (1975–1981) Krokus was formed in 1975 as a progressive rock act. The group's original lead singer, Peter Richard, left before the first album was recorded, leaving lead guitarist Tommy Kiefer to handle lead vocal duties for the band's self-titled debut album. The Guess Who
The Guess Who was a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1965. The band found their greatest success in the late 1960s and early 1970s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including " American Woman", " These Eyes", " No Time", “ Laughing”, and “ Share the Land”. During their most successful period, the Guess Who released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Marc Storace
Marc Storace (; born 7 October 1951) is a Maltese-born Swiss musician. His career in music started in the 1960s. He is most noted for his position as the lead singer and songwriter of the Swiss hard rock band Krokus from 1980. Before joining Krokus, he sang with the Swiss progressive rock band TEA. He has also since undertaken a solo project, duets, an acoustical project, and many guest slots. He also had some close encounters with the classical meets rock world and has worked with a few other rock acts as writer and a singer. Storace has a high-pitched raunchy voice, which has been compared to AC/DC's former lead singer Bon Scott and Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant. Since he began singing professionally in the 1970s, his style and voice have remained largely the same, with a noticeable increase of character, through maturity and years of live and studio experience. Fernando Von Arb
Fernando von Arb or simply FVA (born 17 January 1953) is a Swiss guitarist, songwriter and producer. He is best known for being a guitarist of the Swiss hard rock band Krokus. Career In the early 1970s, Von Arb was playing in the band Montezuma when he was recruited by Chris von Rohr and Tommy Kiefer to join their band, Krokus. He joined the group in time for their second album, '' To You All'' as the rhythm guitarist. In the 1970s, Von Arb undertook the task of finding a powerful voice to front the band, encountering trouble until he discovered Maltese-born Marc Storace to lead his band's vocals for years to come. Although Von Arb and Storace have been apart for a few albums, they are still in Krokus to this day. Christoph von Rohr (born 24 October 1951 in Solothurn) is a Swiss rock musician, record producer, author, columnist, radio and television presenter. He is best known for being a member and founder of the hard rock band, Krokus. Angus McKinnon Young (born 31 March 1955) is an Australian musician, best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, songwriter, and the only continuous member of the hard rock band AC/DC. ''Back in Black'' is the seventh studio album by Australian rock band AC/DC, released on 25 July 1980, by Albert Productions and Atlantic Records. It was the band's first album to feature Brian Johnson as lead singer, following the death of their previous vocalist Bon Scott. After the commercial breakthrough of their 1979 album '' Highway to Hell'', AC/DC was planning to record a follow-up, but in February 1980, Scott died from alcohol poisoning after a drinking binge. The remaining members of the group considered disbanding, but ultimately chose to continue on and recruited Johnson, who had previously been the vocalist for Geordie. An album is a collection of audio recordings (e.g., music) issued on a medium such as compact disc (CD), vinyl (record), audio tape (like 8-track or cassette), or digital.
