is a town located in Okhotsk Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. As of September 2016, the town has an estimated population of 4,596 and a population density of 7.2 persons per km². The total area is 637.03 km². Climate Omu has a humid continental climate (Köppen climate classification The Köppen climate classification divides Earth climates into five main climate groups, with each group being divided based on patterns of seasonal precipitation and temperature. Omu Okwei
Omu Okwei, otherwise known as Okwei of Osomari (1872–1943), was a Nigerian queen merchant from Osomari. Life and career Omu Okwei was born in 1872 to Igbo Prince Osuna Afubeho and one of his wives, a granddaughter of Abo king Obi Ossai. At the age of 9, her mother sent her to live among the Igala with one of her aunts. She learned basic business practices, and traded fruits, yams and poultry. When she was 15, following the death of her father, she lived with her mother at Atani, a city on the Niger River. In 1889, she married Joseph Allagoa, a trader from Brass. Her family disapproved of her choice and did not give her a dowry. The couple had a child, Joseph, and divorced the following year. She traversed the Niger River, selling clothing, pots, and lamps. She exchanged the merchandise for food which she then sold to Europeans. In 1895 she married Opene of Abo, and later had a second son, Peter. Paul Omu
Paul Ufuoma Omu (July 1940 – 29 April 2025) was a Nigerian politician who served as Military Governor of South-Eastern State (renamed Cross River State in February 1976) between July 1975 and July 1978 during the military regimes of Generals Murtala Muhammed and Olusegun Obasanjo. Military career Omu joined the army on 10 December 1962, and was a course mate to Ibrahim Babangida, Sani Bello and Garba Duba at the Nigeria Military Training College. He attended the Mons Officer Cadet School, Aldershot in the United Kingdom and was commissioned on 25 July 1963. He was Commander, 33 Infantry Brigade in July 1975, when appointed Governor of South-Eastern State. In 1984, the Muhammadu Buhari regime created military tribunals to try public officers from the Shehu Shagari era who had been accused of embezzling public funds. Stella Unuezi Omu (born 22 December 1946) is a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform in 1999 for the Delta South Senatorial District of Delta State. Background Omu is of Isoko origin. She was born on 22 December 1946. Her husband is retired Major-General Paul Omu, formerly Military Governor of South-Eastern State, Nigeria. She is the mother of three daughters and three sons. She was an assistant Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, and retired from the civil service as Controller of the Prisons Service. She was a member of the committee on devolution of power constituent assembly (1994–95).
