James Tennant McVea (born 20 January 1988, in Ballybeen) is a Northern Irish former footballer, and manager. He has served as head coach for Old Dominion Monarchs soccer, Old Dominion University men's soccer team since 2024. Career Early career in Northern Ireland McVea played youth football for Ards FC in 2004. While at Ards, he made multiple international appearances for Northern Ireland at U17, U18, and U19 levels. McVea moved to the United States to attend and play College soccer in the United States, college soccer at Loyola University Maryland, after being scouted by the then-coach for the Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer, Greyhounds, Mark Mettrick. The Old Dominion Soccer Complex is a soccer-specific stadium located on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. The 4,000-seat stadium is home to the Old Dominion Monarchs soccer teams. The Monarchs compete in the Sun Belt Conference. The stadium is also the host of the annual Stihl/ODU Soccer Classic. The Old Dominion Monarchs are composed of 18 college athletics in the United States, intercollegiate athletic teams representing Old Dominion University, located in Norfolk, Virginia. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, football, golf, sailing, soccer, swimming, and tennis. Women's sports include basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, golf, sailing, soccer, swimming, tennis, rowing, and volleyball. Mike Berticelli
Mike Berticelli (April 26, 1951 – January 25, 2000) was an American college soccer coach. Career Coach Berticelli served as the Men’s Soccer Coach at Thomas College from 1976-1979, compiling a career record of 41-18-2 and was named New England Coach of the Year in 1977, He then made the switch to head men's soccer coach at UNC-Greensboro from 1980 to 1983. He led the Spartans to Division III national championships in 1982 and 1983. From 1984 to 1989, he was the head men's soccer coach at Old Dominion University, where he posted a 76–27–16 record in six seasons. His teams reached the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament every year he coached there. He led the Monarchs to two conference championships, and their first ever NCAA tournament appearance. He earned Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year honors in 1984.
