Ogle County is a county in the northern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 United States census, it had a population of 51,788. Its county seat is Oregon, and its largest city is Rochelle. Ogle County comprises Rochelle, IL Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Rockford- Freeport-Rochelle, IL Combined Statistical Area. History Ogle County was formed in 1836 out of Jo Daviess and LaSalle counties, and named in honor of Captain Joseph Ogle, a veteran of the Revolutionary War who settled in Illinois in 1785. Ogle Marbury
Ogle Marbury (August 23, 1882 – October 3, 1973) was an American politician and jurist who served as Chief Judge of the supreme court of the U.S. state of Maryland, the Court of Appeals. Early life and education Marbury was born near Guilford, Howard County, Maryland to Eleanora Brevitt (née MacKenzie) and Reverend Ogle Marbury. He was privately tutored as a youth, and also attended Baltimore City College and Deichmann Gymnasium School. He received his B.A. degree in 1902 from Johns Hopkins University, and his LL.B. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1904. In 1904, Marbury was admitted to the Maryland Bar and entered into private practice in Prince George's County and Baltimore. He worked with the firm of Marbury & Perlman, and later partnered with Lee I. Hecht. The Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) is a Polish astronomy, astronomical project based at the University of Warsaw that runs time-domain astronomy, a long-term variability sky survey (1992–present). The main goals are the detection and classification of variable stars (Pulsating variable, pulsating and Eclipsing variable stars, eclipsing), discovery of microlensing events, dwarf novae, and studies of the structure of the Galaxy and the Magellanic Clouds. Baron Ogle is an abeyant title in the Peerage of England. It was created in 1461 for Robert Ogle. It fell into abeyance in 1691. The Ogles were a prominent Northumbrian family from before the time of the Norman Conquest. Glen Ogle (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Ogail) extends 7 miles north westwards from Lochearnhead to Lix Toll, where it opens into Glen Dochart. The Ogle Burn flows within the steep sides of the glen, from the Lochan Lairig Cheile at the glen's head. The military road, which can be seen from the modern road, was built in 1749 by Major William Caulfeild.
