Oceania Cup Winners Cup, known for sponsorship purposes as the Qantas South Pacific Cup Winners Cup, was one of the two main Oceania tournaments for clubs, the other one is Oceania Champions League. It was only played in 1987 and Sydney City (Australia, qualified as NSL Cup winners in 1986) emerged as winners in a single match against North Shore United (New Zealand, qualified as Chatham Cup winners in 1986). OFC Men's Champions League
The OFC Men's Champions League is the premier men's club football competition in Oceania. It is organised by the OFC, Oceania's football governing body. Beginning as the Oceania Club Championship (1987–2006), it has been organised since 2007 under its current format. The first four Club Championship titles were won by Australian clubs. Since 2006, when Australia left the OFC, 16 OFC titles have been won by clubs from New Zealand, one by a Papua New Guinean club and one by a New Caledonian club. Trophies for OFC tournament winners are made by London-based silversmiths Thomas Lyte. NSL Cup
The National Soccer League Cup (known most commonly as the NSL Cup) was an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Australian soccer organised by the Australian Soccer Federation between 1977 and 1997. History The NSL Cup was organised to run in conjunction with the teams participating in the National Soccer League (NSL) between 1977 and 1997. It was the second nationwide club tournament held in Australia, the first being the Australia Cup during the 1960s. It was held initially in 1977 immediately after the end of the NSL's regular home and away season, as there was no final series. Chatham Cup
The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier Single-elimination tournament, knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are Wellington Olympic, who defeated Auckland City on penalties in the final. History The Chatham Cup is contested by teams from throughout New Zealand, and has been held annually since 1923 with the exception of 1937, 1941–44 and 2020. Typically between 120 and 150 teams take part, with extra time and penalty shoot-outs used to decide matches which end in ties. In the past, replays were used, and in the early years of the competition the number of corners won during a game decided tied matches. Maccabi Hakoah Sydney City East FC, commonly known as Maccabi Hakoah, is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1939 as Sydney Hakoah by members of Sydney's Jewish community. They played between 1977 and 1986 in the National Soccer League as Eastern Suburbs (1977–1979) and Sydney City (1979–1987). North Shore United Association Football Club is an amateur football club based in the North Shore, Auckland. They compete in the NRFL Championship, after being relegated in 2022. Abbas Saad (; born 1 December 1967) is a soccer manager and former player. Born in Lebanon, Saad played for the Australia national team. Club career Saad began his playing career in 1985 at Sydney City, before moving to Sydney Olympic. In 1990, he was awarded the Joe Marston Medal for the being the Player of the Match in the NSL final in which Sydney Olympic beat the Marconi Stallions 2–0. He then played in the Malaysian League for Johor and Singapore in the early 1990s. He was a key member of teams which won the League and Malaysia Cup double with both Johor in 1991 and Singapore in 1994. In the 1994 Malaysia Cup final, Saad scored a hat-trick in Singapore's 4–0 victory over Pahang. Tom McCulloch
Tom McCulloch (born 10 February 1964) is an Australian former soccer player and coach. McCulloch played at both professional and international levels as a defender. Career Playing career McCulloch played club football for Marconi Stallions, APIA Leichhardt and Sydney City. His is Marconi's all-time NSL appearance holder. He also made 14 official international appearances for Australia, scoring one goal, between 1985 and 1992. He had previously competed at the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship.
