Occupy Central With Love And Peace
Occupy Central with Love and Peace (OCLP) was a single-purpose Hong Kong civil disobedience campaign initiated by Reverend Chu Yiu-ming, Benny Tai and Chan Kin-man on 27 March 2013. The campaign was launched on 24 September 2014, partially leading to the 2014 Hong Kong protests. According to its manifesto, the campaign advocates for an electoral system in Hong Kong that is decided through a democratic process and satisfies international standards of universal and equal suffrage. With the first three stages of the movement – dialogue, deliberation and citizens' authorization – the civil disobedience that follows must be non-violent. The campaign called for occupation of Hong Kong's central business district, Central, if the amendments were not made. The Occupy movement was an international populist Social movement, socio-political movement that expressed opposition to Social equality, social and economic inequality and to the perceived lack of "real democracy" around the world. Qiao Xiaoyang (born 1945) is the former chairman of the Hong Kong SAR Basic Law Committee of the 11th National People's Congress. Biography Qiao was born in Hubei province in 1945. He was graduated from the Beijing Language and Culture University and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1974. Alliance For Universal Suffrage
The Alliance for Universal Suffrage was a coalition formed by 11 pro-democracy parties and groups in Hong Kong. The Convenor of the Alliance was Fung Wai-wah. It provided a single point of contact to interface with the governments of Hong Kong and China, especially to press for more democratic formulas for the Chief Executive election in 2017 and the Legco election in 2020. The grouping is seen as more 'moderate' than the League of Social Democrats and the Civic Party, which have triggered Legco by-elections in May 2010, by having five of their members resign and stand for reelection in a 'de facto referendum' on democratic progress in Hong Kong. The Alliance for True Democracy was a coalition of the pan-democrats to fight for full universal suffrage in Hong Kong. It was formed on 21 March 2013 by 12 pan-democratic groups on the basis of the Alliance for Universal Suffrage formed in 2010 and suspended in January 2013 due to the split over strategy on dealing the Beijing government.
