''Now That the Light Is Fading'' is the debut extended play by American singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers. Following a series of indie releases and her 2016 breakthrough hit "Alaska", the EP was released on February 16, 2017, by Columbia Records and Rogers' imprint Debay Sounds. The EP received favorable reviews and charted at number four on the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers Albums chart, and number 39 on the Top Rock Albums chart. Critical reception Leonie Cooper of ''NME'' called the EP "a gossamer- light, glorious thing that, over the course of four songs, builds into something approaching pop perfection." Margaret Debay Rogers (born April 25, 1994) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer from Easton, Maryland. After her song "Alaska" was played to artist-in-residence Pharrell Williams during a master class at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts in Manhattan in 2016, she received widespread recognition. She has released two independent albums, ''The Echo'' (2012) and ''Blood Ballet'' (2014), and three studio albums, '' Heard It in a Past Life'' (2019), '' Surrender'' (2022), and '' Don't Forget Me'' (2024). She was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2020. Tidal (stylized TIDAL) is a Norwegian-American music streaming service, launched in 2014 by the Norwegian-Swedish public company Aspiro.
