Maraaya
Maraaya are a Slovenian duo founded by Marjetka Vovk and Aleš Vovk (Raay) in 2014. The group's name is a combination of its members' names, while its pronunciation means "She has Raay" in Slovene. Raay is credited as co-writer and producer for many Slovenian artists. He is credited as the composer on Slovenia's 2014 Eurovision song "Round and Round", and they both contributed to Slovenia's 2014 Junior Eurovision song with " Nisi sam (Your Light)" and 2015 Junior Eurovision song with "Prva ljubezen" (The First Love). In 2013 Raay co-wrote and produced the music for "My Way Is My Decision", a hit song performed by Slovenian alpine skier Tina Maze. Raay co-wrote, produced and recorded first two singles ("Muza" and " Heart of Gold") for BQL, a Slovenian brothers duo. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, label, and club and gig circuit. "It's Complicated" is a song by Slovene duo Maraaya, featuring Slovene duo BQL. It was written by Raay, Marjetka Vovk and Charlie Mason. This is Maraaya's fifth and BQL's third single which premiered on 26 May 2017 in front of the live audience on the Cankar street in Ljubljana. This song and video was officially released on 7 June 2017 at Nika Records. Since 17 June 2017 available worldwide on iTunes, Spotify and Deezer. Music video The video was shot in Spain with international cooperation of Estonian Vita Pictura Productions. According to Raay, Maraaya and BQL do not perform in the video with the intention to appear more mysterious, as it is popular with videos these days. Slovenia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Blue and Red" written by Marjan Hvala, Manuella Brečko and Leon Oblak. The song was performed by ManuElla. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTV Slovenija) organised the national final ''EMA 2016'' in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten entries competed in the national final where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, the top two entries were selected by a three-member jury panel. In the second round, "Blue and Red" performed by ManuElla was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote. Slovenia was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2016. It presents weekly, monthly and yearly singles charts, following 61 various radio stations across Slovenia. It publishes weekly charts once a week, every Sunday. Chart contain data generated by the SloTop50 system according to any song played during the period starting the previous Monday morning at time 00:00:00 and ending Sunday night at 23:59:59.
