Norwegian Accordionists' Association
The Norwegian Accordionists' Association ( no, Norske Trekkspilleres Landsforbund, NTL) is a Norwegian musical organization for accordionists that was established on October 17, 1971. The association's founders included Aage Grundstad. It has just over 3,000 members (grouped by counties), of which 200 are accordion orchestras. The association is headed by Trond Smalås, and it is headquartered in Oslo. It holds annual district championships in February leading up to the annual Norwegian Accordion Championship (''NM på trekkspill''), which in recent years has been held in Bergen (2000), Seljord (2001), Hønefoss (2002), Tromsø (2003), Malm (2004), Lillehammer (2005), Bodø (2006), Bø (2007), and Sandnes (2008). Arild Formoe
Arild Formoe (May 4, 1912 – December 2, 2006) was a Norwegian accordion player and orchestra conductor throughout the 20th century. Arnstein Johansen
Arnstein Johansen (June 19, 1925 – September 26, 2013) was a Norwegian accordionist that played jazz and old-fashioned dances. He became well-known through his recordings and his international collaboration. Life Johansen was born in Fredrikstad. He studied under Ottar E. Akre, Thorleif Ekren, and Gunnar Sønstevold, and also at the Norwegian Academy of Music. After the Second World War, he played in a duet with Rolf Andersen, and then spent time in the United States, playing with Pietro Frosini, Guido Deiro, and Anthony Galla-Rini. Gol, Norway
is a municipality in Buskerud in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Hallingdal. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Gol which is also the population center. Gol was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Sandnes () is a city and municipality in Rogaland, Norway. It lies immediately south of Stavanger, the 4th largest city in Norway and together, the Stavanger/Sandnes area is the third-largest urban area in Norway. Aage Grundstad
Aage Grundstad (May 26, 1923 – April 8, 2012) was a Norwegian award-winning accordion player, originally from Vefsn. Grundstad studied at the Oslo Conservatory of Music and graduated from the Veitvedt Music School. He had his solo debut on NRK in 1946, where he later had several radio concerts. He founded the club Friends of Old-Fashioned Dance (''Venner av gammeldans'') in Oslo with Angell Gabrielsen in 1954 and founded the Norwegian Accordionists' Association in 1971. Grundstad had his own ensemble with Knut Trøen, who studied the Norwegian figure dance (''turdans'') tradition, and released several albums. Malm
is the administrative centre of the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village of Malm is located along the Breistadsundet strait which flows into the Trondheimsfjorden.
