The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos or colloquially the Roos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a Australian Football League reserves affiliations, reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and women's team in the VFLW. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football competition in Australia operated by the Australian Football League (AFL) as a second-tier, regional, semi-professional competition. It includes teams from clubs based in eastern states of Australia: Victoria (Australia), Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, including reserve team, reserves teams for the eastern state AFL clubs. JE Hands Memorial Park, more commonly known as Hands Oval, is a stadium in South Bunbury, Western Australia. The ground is mainly used for Australian rules football matches, but has also hosted cricket and soccer. Emma Michelle Kearney (born 24 September 1989) is an Australian rules footballer and former cricketer. A decorated midfielder in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition, Kearney won the league's best and fairest award while playing for the in 2018 and has captained since 2019. Darren Crocker (born 26 March 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who is currently the coach of the AFL Women's team. He formerly played for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Playing career Crocker played in the 1996 AFL Grand Final against the Sydney Swans. Coaching career On 16 June 2009, he was appointed caretaker senior coach of the North Melbourne Football Club after the resignation of Dani Laidley.
