Noarlunga Centre railway station is a railway station on the Seaford railway line, Seaford line, and for almost 36 years (April 2, 1978 - February 23, 2014) it was the terminus of the line. Situated in the southern Adelaide suburb of Noarlunga Centre, it is 30.2 kilometres from Adelaide railway station, Adelaide station. The station has a bus interchange directly alongside and is adjacent to a large commuter park & ride facility. 3000 Class Railcar
The 3000 class and 3100 class are a class of diesel railcars that operate on the Railways in Adelaide, Adelaide rail network. Built by Commonwealth Engineering, Comeng and Clyde Engineering between 1987 and 1996, they entered service under the State Transport Authority (South Australia), State Transport Authority as a replacement for the South Australian Railways Redhen railcar, Redhen railcars, before later being operated by TransAdelaide and Adelaide Metro. Trains are typically coupled as multiple units, though the 3000 class are also able to run as single units when needed. In total, 70 railcars were built and are expected to be retired between 2030 and 2032. The fleet underwent 3 major refurbishments. Salisbury railway station is a railway station and bus interchange in the northern Adelaide suburb of Salisbury. It is on the Gawler line, from Adelaide station. Adjoining it is a large park & ride carpark, making it one of the busiest stations on the Adelaide suburban rail system. ABC Radio Adelaide (call sign: 5AN) is the ABC Local Radio station for Adelaide. It is broadcast at 891 kHz on the AM band, on DAB digital radio and on the ABC Listen app. It is also available on Digital TV on channel 25 in Adelaide. History 5AN started transmitting on 15 October 1937 with equipment located in the central telephone exchange, and a radio mast located in Post Office Place. Aldinga is a suburb of Adelaide in South Australia located about south of the Adelaide city centre in the City of Onkaparinga. It is a small suburb (population around 573 in 2016), about a kilometre east of the edge of the larger suburb of Aldinga Beach, and about from the beachfront. Port Stanvac, South Australia
Port Stanvac is a former port and oil refinery in the suburb of Lonsdale south of Adelaide city centre in South Australia. It was operated by ExxonMobil between 1963 and 2003. Since its closure, the port and adjoining land-based refinery site have been decommissioned. Oil refinery It was announced in 1958 that a refinery with a designed capacity of 3.3 million tons per annum and owned by ExxonMobil would be built at Port Stanvac. The refinery first processed crude oil there in 1963. Its closure in 2003 resulted in the loss more than 400 jobs. Decommissioning and remediation of the site is ongoing and is expected to continue until 2019. Once the site has been decommissioned, the land is expected to be sold in phases.
