No Comply (Italian Band)
NoComply were a metal-influenced punk rock sextet hailing from Plymouth, Devon in the south of England. They took their name from the skateboarding trick known as "no comply". On 23 January 2006, the band announced their intention to split up. History NoComply formed in the autumn of 1998. The founder members were Kelly (vocals), Jon (guitars), and Nick (bass). The final line up was completed by Si (drums), Oz (trombone), and Matt (saxophone). Early incarnations of the band were driven by covering the likes of Pennywise and AFI in Jon’s bed, all learnt from the internet. In these early years the band produced three demos ''Never Unknown'', ''Bring It On'', and ''Should Have Guessed''. Plymouth
Plymouth () is a port city and unitary authority in South West England. It is located on the south coast of Devon, approximately south-west of Exeter and south-west of London. It is bordered by Cornwall to the west and south-west. Plymouth's early history extends to the Bronze Age when a first settlement emerged at Mount Batten. Lightyear is a seven-piece British ska punk band formed in Derby, England, in 1997. They were part of a UK music scene that mixed ska punk with other genres including funk, indie-rock and hip-hop. The band signed to Household Name Records in 2001, and released two full-length albums before splitting in 2003. Since 2006 the band have had a number of reunions. Biography The band formed in 1997, with their first gig in their hometown of Derby in 1998. Lightyear released their debut album ''Call of the Weasel Clan'' in October 2001. Antimaniax is a four-piece skacore, lyrically anti-authoritarian band from Austria that was formed in 1998. History Though they released a demo recording, ''We're Tryin'...'' in 2000, their first official release came in the form of a mini album, ''As Long As People Think'' on Household Name Records in 2002. That year they performed over 100 shows including three tours throughout the UK and a tour of Eastern Europe. In 2003 they released a second mini album - ''I'm Without Sleep... In This Desert of Concrete'' - on Household Name Records, supporting that release by touring Europe. They also conducted a 5 week tour with US ska-core band Leftöver Crack that year. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (often shortened to just Me First or the Gimmes) are a punk rock supergroup and cover band that formed in San Francisco in 1995. The band's lineup consists of Spike Slawson, Fat Mike, Joey Cape, and Dave Raun. Chris Shiflett is a former member. The Gimmes work exclusively as a cover band. They specialize in rapid-fire punk interpretations of a wide range of songs, often with a humorous edge. The band is named after a children's book of the same name by Gerald G. Jampolsky and Diane V. Alkaline Trio is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Since 2001, the band has consisted of Matt Skiba (vocals, guitar), Dan Andriano (vocals, bass) and Derek Grant (drums, vocals). Founded in late 1996 by Skiba, bassist Rob Doran, and drummer Glenn Porter, Alkaline Trio released its debut single, "Sundials", in 1997. Following its release, Doran departed from the band and was replaced by Andriano. The band subsequently recorded an EP, '' For Your Lungs Only'' (1998), and its debut studio album, '' Goddamnit'' (1998). Carling Weekend
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday. Campsites are available at both sites and weekend tickets include camping. Day tickets are also sold. Adequate Seven were a Welsh band who blended music styles such as hip hop, hardcore, punk, and funk. They formed in 2000 and split in December 2006. History Adequate Seven formed in November 2000 and played their first gig only four weeks later. The band drew upon a diverse selection of influences in creating their sound. In February 2001 the band released the '' Adequate Seven EP'', a 5-track EP on their own label Breaking World Records. The band was brought to the attention of London-based label Household Name Records who featured one of the band's tracks on their 2002 label sampler, following this with the release of Adequate Seven's début full-length ''Songs of Innocence and of Experience'' in March 2003 to critical acclaim. Scuzz TV
Scuzz was a British 24-hour rock and metal music television channel owned and operated by Sony Pictures Television. It was launched on 17 April 2003 and went on to be the highest-rated rock TV station on the Sky satellite platform, available in over 12 million homes in the UK and Ireland. The channel was abruptly closed on 15 November 2018. The channel broadcast mainstream rock, pop-punk, and metal, with unsigned and lesser known bands featuring in the late night show 'New Noise'. Scuzz tended to play a broader selection of music videos compared with the other British rock channels MTV Rocks and Kerrang! although K! and Scuzz did share quite a few songs. Nerf Herder is an American rock band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 1994 by Parry Gripp (vocals, guitar), Charlie Dennis (bass) and Steve Sherlock (drums).
