''Ninety Minute Stopover'' (German: ''Neunzig Minuten Aufenthalt'') is a 1936 German adventure crime film directed by and starring Harry Piel. It also features Alexander Golling, Else von Möllendorff and Genia Nikolaieva. It was shot at the Grunewald Studios of Tobis Film in Berlin and On location in Lisbon.Klaus p.161-62 The film's sets were designed by the art directors Wilhelm Depenau and Karl Vollbrecht. Synopsis Berlin police officer Harry Winkler stops off in Lisbon before his ship sails to Buenos Aires where he is to take part in a boxing tournament. Harry Piel
Heinrich Piel (12 July 1892 – 27 March 1963), known professionally as Harry Piel, was a prolific German actor, film director, screenwriter, and film producer who was involved in over 150 films. Piel became a director in 1912, turning out such box-office successes as ''Mann Gegen Mann'' (1928), '' Achtung! - Auto-Diebe!'' (1930) and ''Artisten'' (1935). His last directorial effort was 1953's ''Gesprengte Gitter (Elephant Fury'', a.k.a. ''Panic''), which he also produced, wrote, and starred. Early life After attending elementary school in Benrath and High School in Derendorf, Piel became a cadet in 1909 on a sailing ship, the ''Grand Duchess Elizabeth''. Eduard Clemens Franz Anna Freiherr von Wangenheim (1 August 1871 – 22 July 1961), known as Eduard von Winterstein, was an Austrian-German film actor who appeared in over one hundred fifty German films during the silent and sound eras. He was also a noted theater actor. Biography Von Winterstein was born in Vienna on 1 August 1871 to landowner Hugo, Freiherr von Wangenheim and his second wife, Hungarian-born actress Aloysia "Luise" von Wangenheim-Dub. His predecessors were the Barons of Wangenheim. He took acting lessons from his mother, who had played at the Burgtheater in Vienna.
