Nile (band)
Nile is an American death metal band from Greenville, South Carolina, formed in 1993. The band's current lineup consists of founding guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders, drummer George Kollias, guitarist/vocalist Brian Kingsland, bassist/vocalist Dan Vadim Von and guitarist/vocalist Zach Jeter. The band is known for their dedicated lyrical and musical style, which is inspired by Egyptology and works of H. P. Lovecraft. Since its formation, the band has released ten studio albums, two compilations, three extended plays, two demos, three singles, and five music videos. Their latest studio album, '' The Underworld Awaits Us All'', was released on August 23, 2024, through Napalm Records. George Kollias (drummer)
Giorgos "George" Kollias (; born 30 August 1977) is a Greek heavy metal drummer best known for his work with American technical death metal band Nile. He is the first Nile drummer to perform every song on more than one full-length album (handling drum duties on all the band's albums since '' Annihilation of the Wicked''). His sponsors include Zildjian cymbals, Evans, Vic Firth, and Pearl; the last with whom he co-designed the Demon XR bass drum pedals. In addition to being the drummer of Nile, he also teaches drums at the Modern Music School in Athens. Biography Kollias was born in Corinth.
